    Characteristic Length Scale of Electric Transport Properties of Genomes

    A tight-binding model together with a novel statistical method are used to investigate the relation between the sequence-dependent electric transport properties and the sequences of protein-coding regions of complete genomes. A correlation parameter Ω\Omega is defined to analyze the relation. For some particular propagation length wmaxw_{max}, the transport behaviors of the coding and non-coding sequences are very different and the correlation reaches its maximal value Ωmax\Omega_{max}. wmaxw_{max} and \omax are characteristic values for each species. The possible reason of the difference between the features of transport properties in the coding and non-coding regions is the mechanism of DNA damage repair processes together with the natural selection.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

    The classification of traveling wave solutions and superposition of multi-solutions to Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion

    Under the traveling wave transformation, Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion is reduced to an integrable ODE whose general solution can be obtained using the trick of one-parameter group. Furthermore combining complete discrimination system for polynomial, the classifications of all single traveling wave solutions to the Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion is obtained. In particular, an affine subspace structure in the set of the solutions of the reduced ODE is obtained. More general, an implicit linear structure in Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion is found. According to the linear structure, we obtain the superposition of multi-solutions to Camassa-Holm equation with dispersion

    Anisotropic Flow and Viscous Hydrodynamics

    We report part of our recent work on viscous hydrodynamics with consistent phase space distribution f(x,\p) for freeze out. We develop the gradient expansion formalism based on kinetic theory, and with the constraints from the comparison between hydrodynamics and kinetic theory, viscous corrections to f(x,\p) can be consistently determined order by order. Then with the obtained f(x,\p), second order viscous hydrodynamical calculations are carried out for elliptic flow v2v_2.Comment: 8 pages, 2 figures.     High threshold distributed quantum computing with three-qubit nodes

    In the distributed quantum computing paradigm, well-controlled few-qubit `nodes' are networked together by connections which are relatively noisy and failure prone. A practical scheme must offer high tolerance to errors while requiring only simple (i.e. few-qubit) nodes. Here we show that relatively modest, three-qubit nodes can support advanced purification techniques and so offer robust scalability: the infidelity in the entanglement channel may be permitted to approach 10% if the infidelity in local operations is of order 0.1%. Our tolerance of network noise is therefore a order of magnitude beyond prior schemes, and our architecture remains robust even in the presence of considerable decoherence rates (memory errors). We compare the performance with that of schemes involving nodes of lower and higher complexity.     Strong decays of N(1535)N^{*}(1535) in an extended chiral quark model

    The strong decays of the N(1535)N^{*}(1535) resonance are investigated in an extended chiral quark model by including the low-lying qqqqqˉqqqq\bar{q} components in addition to the qqqqqq component. The results show that these five-quark components in N(1535)N^{*}(1535) contribute significantly to the N(1535)NπN^{*}(1535)\to N\pi and N(1535)NηN^{*}(1535)\to N\eta decays. The contributions to the NηN\eta decay come from both the lowest energy and the next-to-lowest energy five-quarks components, while the contributions to the NπN\pi decay come from only the latter one. Taking these contributions into account, the description for the strong decays of N(1535)N^{*}(1535) is improved, especially, for the puzzling large ratio of the decays to NηN\eta and NπN\pi.Comment: 6 pages, 1 figur
