Particle Size Dependent Gas Sensing Performance of Zno Nanorods based Thick Film Resistors

    Get PDF
Pure bulk ZnO was observed to be less sensitive to hazardous, toxic and inflammable gases. As the particle size of the materials get reduced from bulk to nanoscale, the gas sensing performance of pure ZnO was observed to increase crucially. It was also observed that, further decrease in the particle size would leads to decrease in the gas response. The optimized average diameter of ZnO Nanorod / particle size is 12 nm, which exhibits crucial gas response. The disc type ultrasonicated microwave assisted centrifuge technique was used for the synthesis of materials. The dry powders of synthesized materials were transformed into thick films by screen printing technique. Various characterizations techniques were employed to study the surface topography, crystal structure, phase, particle size, etc. effect of the surface nanostructure, different gases, gas concentrations, particle size, long duration for ageing, etc. on the gas response of the samples were studied and discussed. HOMOGENEOUS MULTI-INTERFACE MOBILE NODE SUPPORT IN NS2

    Get PDF
NS2 is a widely used, open source tool for network simulation. A Mobile Node (MN) in NS2 by default provides only a single Wi-Fi interface. It makes difficult for users to simulate the scenario where a mobile node is connected to multiple networks through different interfaces at the same time. Some projects have been done to implement multiple Wi-Fi interfaces but according to our view they have some limitations. This paper presents the implementation of mobile nodes in NS2 with multiple Wi-Fi interfaces and multiple WiMAX interfaces trying to overcome those limitations

Use of Public Library Services by Differently abled Persons: A Pilot Study of City Central Library, Dharwad

In this article, an attempt has been made to investigate whether differently abled persons effectively using public library services or not. For the study, 50 questionnaires were distributed to differently abled persons and finally 43 (86%) questionnaires were considered for analysis based on the merit of the filled questionnaires. The analysis of the data revealed that, differently abled persons use City Central Library services very rarely and majority rather all of them were physically disabled persons. Another finding is that, Information needs of differently abled persons are same as other abled persons. It is rather disappointing that majority i.e. 69.77% of information needs of differently abled persons remain un-satisfied. Inaccessibility, Lack of reading materials in alternative formats, special services and Lack of assistive technologies with access to computers are the major problems faced by the differently abled persons. The study concludes with some of the important suggestions for development of information resources, services and infrastructure facilities of the CCL in order to provide better services and to improve the collection to satisfy the needs of differently abled persons

Direct to consumer advertising via the Internet, a study of hip resurfacing

    Get PDF
With increased use of the internet for health information and direct to consumer advertising from medical companies, there is a concern about the quality of the information available for patients. The aim of this study was to examine the quality of health information on the internet for hip resurfacing. An assessment tool was designed to measure quality of information. Websites were measured on credibility of source; usability; currentness of the information; content relevance; content accuracy/completeness and disclosure/bias. Each website assessed was given a total score, based on number of scores achieved from the above categories websites were further analysed on author, geographical origin and possession of an independent credibility check. There was positive correlation between the overall score for the website and the score of each website in each assessment category. Websites by implant companies, doctors and hospitals scored poorly. Websites with an independent credibility check such as Health on the Net (HoN) scored twice the total scores of websites without. Like other internet health websites, the quality of information on hip resurfacing websites is variable. This study highlights methods by which to assess the quality of health information on the internet and advocates that patients should look for a statement of an "independent credibility check" when searching for information on hip resurfacing

    A rare cause of epididymo-orchitis

    Get PDF
Epididymo-orchitis is an inflammatory lesion of the testis and epididymis with a lymphocytic exudate. Patients with acute epididymo-orchitis typically present with scrotal pain, swelling, tenderness and fever. Here, we present a patient with scrotal pain and hemiscrotal swelling as the main complaints; however further investigations revealed a completely different and rare diagnosis. Zinner’s syndrome is a very rare developmental anomaly of the Wolffian duct. To date, only about 200 cases have been diagnosed. It is a triad of unilateral renal agenesis, ipsilateral seminal vesicle cyst and ejaculatory duct obstruction. Some patients remain asymptomatic and discovered incidentally, while others present with symptoms related to seminal vesicle cysts or ejaculatory duct obstruction: voiding or ejaculatory difficulty or pain. Treatment options include transurethral or transrectal aspiration and percutaneous drainage, however both are linked to an increased risk of recurrence. Symptomatic, complicated and recurrent cyst will require excision of the cyst, either laparoscopically or robotically

Review on QA Performance Improvement using Multimedia Techniques

    Get PDF
CQA (Community question Answering) which is the record of millions of question and answer which is created. CQA user to provide a rich resources of information which is missing at Web Search Engine and to automate and enhanced the process of locating the high-quality answer question at a CQA.CQA archived the question that are matched by the CQA system with respect to QA which significantly minimizes the user time and efforts involved in searching for answer to Question. CQA forum usually provide only the textual answer which are not enough for many question. In this paper, we propose a scheme that will be able to enrich textual answer in CQA with appropriate using of media data. In this project our scheme consists of 3 components such as the Answer Medium Selection, The Query Generation for Multimedia, The Multimedia data Selection and Presentation. In this our approach is to automatically determine which type of the media information can be added to enrich the textual answer. In this by processing for large datasets QApair and adding them to a pool, in this our approach as a user’s can find multimedia question answer (MMQA) by matching their questions with those in the pool. Different from a lot of multimedia QA research efforts that attempt to directly answer the question with Image and Video data. In this our approach is built based on Community Contributed Textual Answer and can deal with more complex questions. In this we have also conducted extensive experiment on a multi-source QA datasets there the result Demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.15081

Background:Objectives of current study were to know the prevailing infant feeding practices in infants and to identify the problems affecting infant and young child feeding practices and to analyze the environmental factors influence the mothers, families and caregivers in infant feeding.  Methods:The present study is a hospital based observation study. A total of 501 mothers and their infants attending new born paediatric OPD, immunization clinic of department of paediatrics for various reasons of health care were recruited for the study after their informed consent and institutional ethical clearance. Information about the first feed after birth, time of initiation of breastfeeding, duration of exclusive breast feeding, time of introduction of complementary feeding, knowledge of feeding skills, mother’s concept of adequacy of breast milk were collected in the structured, pre tested proforma by personal one to one interview with the mothers. All the mothers of infants from 0 to 1 year were included. Statistical analysis: The data obtained by the interview were analyzed with regarding to mothers education level, religion and other related parameters pertaining to feeding practices. Percentages of parameters were calculated and analyzed.  Results:Majority of the mothers belong to the age group of 18 to 30 years (96.01%), prelacteal feeds were given by a good number of mothers (42.32%), 60.66% mothers were given the sugar water as the prelacteal feed and 71.56% mothers have used cup and spoon to give prelacteal feeds. 75.25% of the mothers have practiced giving colostrum, 72.26% of mothers were breastfeeding their baby for 5 to 10 minutes during each feed at an interval of 0.5 hours to 3.5 hours. Majority of mothers (34.73%) had the knowledge of starting of weaning at six months and 46.88% of mothers were giving weaning food twice daily. Conclusion:Significant number of mothers had discarded colostrum and most of the mothers intended to give only breast milk upto four months and they did not have correct knowledge regarding exclusive breastfeeding upto six months.
