Meeting Planners’ Perspectives on Relationship Selling in the MICE Industry
The purpose of this study is to propose a newly refined model of relationship selling in the general context between meeting planners and suppliers in Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition (MICE) industry .The refined model was tested by using an online survey of a sample of professional meeting planners in the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA). Results showed both social bonds with the supplier and expertise of the supplier had an effect on meeting planners’ perceived trust and satisfaction; while willingness and power of the supplier was related to neither meeting planners’ perceived trust nor satisfaction. This refined model could provide research insights and guide future research on key relationship selling constructs between meeting planners and suppliers in the MICE industry

The Moderating Effects of Tourist Characteristics and Novelty Seeking on the Relationships between Satisfaction, Revisit Intention and WOM
This study investigates the moderating effects of tourist characteristics and novelty seeking on the relationships among destination attributes, satisfaction, revisit intention and word-of-mouth (WOM). Using structural equation modeling and a multiple group analysis, the findings reveal that the effects of destination attributes on satisfaction, revisit intention and WOM do not differ across age, gender, annual income, and marital status. The results also reveal that the strength of the effect of satisfaction on revisit intention depends on levels of novelty seeking. In other words, for tourists with high novelty seeking, the effect of overall satisfaction on revisit intention is weaker than for those with low novelty seeking

A Gap Analysis on Generation Y Customer Expectations and Perceptions towards Lifestyle Hotels
This study conducts a gap analysis on Generation Y (Gen Y) customer expectation and perception towards lifestyle hotels. In the result, 11 gaps between Gen Y customer expectation and perceptions on lifestyle hotels are identified. An Importance-Performance (I-P) map further demonstrates how lifestyle hotels satisfy Gen Y clients, and suggests future improvements for lifestyle hotels to better cater Gen Y guests. The findings indicate that Gen Yers are overall satisfied with lifestyle hotels, and lifestyle hotels have relatively high performance in general. But there are also a few aspects lifestyle hotels could enhance for higher customer satisfactions. This research not only enriches limited existing understandings on Gen Y customer expectations, perceptions, and lifestyle hotel performance as well for academies; but also gives industry professionals useful recommendations for future improvements

Towards an Integrative Model of Destination Attachment: Dimensionality and Influence on Revisit Intention
Attachment is considered a universal human experience that occurs throughout the lifecycle, which provides an opportunity for both self-expression as well as connection to others. However, the greatest challenge for attachment researchers is to integrate diverse perspectives and approaches to define the construct. This study synthesized literature from relevant disciplines (i.e., psychology, marketing and human geography) to provide a comprehensive reflection upon the concept of destination attachment. A four-dimension construct of destination attachment was proposed, and its influence on revisit intention was also examined. This study provides an integrated view of the destination attachment definition, and further empirically examines the validity and reliability of the four-dimensional construct

A Neoclassic Growth Model of Leisure Time and China\u27s Economic Growth
The Purpose of this study was to assess the effect of leisure time on China’s long-run economic growth. Two compensation effects of leisure were introduced into the economic growth model to assess if leisure choice-set affect economic growth in the long-run. A time series data of 23 years (1981-2003) was used in the study. A neoclassic growth model was used to analyze the data. The result found a weak negative relationship between leisure time and China’s long-run economic growth

A Study of the Impact of Restaurant Affiliation on Part-time Workers’ Organizational Citizenship Behavior
The purposes for this study are: 1) To examine the influence of the management style of restaurant affiliation (chain and independent restaurants) on the relationships between organization citizenship behavior and three factors: a. part-time employee’s perceived supervisor support, b. part-time employee’s perceived organizational support, and c. organizational commitment; and 2) To compare the different level of work perceptions and organizational commitment between part-time workers of chain restaurants and part-time workers of independent restaurants. Survey was conducted among 185 part-time workers in the restaurant industry. The results indicated that management styles of different restaurant affiliation have influence on part-time workers

Demographic Variables and Loyalty Formation: A Systematic Examination
The objective of the study was to offer a systematic approach to examine the potential differences in loyalty formation process across different demographic groups. A multiple-groups analysis was conducted and the findings revealed that : 1) travelers in different age and income segments exhibited no significant difference in their perception of the destination image, levels of satisfaction and loyalty; 2) travelers in different gender and education segments had different levels of image perceptions, but they formed comparable level of satisfaction and loyalty across groups; 3) the holistic loyalty formation process remained identical across demographic groups

A Study of the Impact of Tourism Economic and Non-economic Benefits on Residents\u27 Pro-Environmental Behaviors in Community-based Ecotourism
A survey was conducted on 362 residents of a classical ecotourism destination in China to explore the impacts of both tourism economic and non-economic benefits on residents’ pro-environmental behaviors. The results of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) indicated that tourism economic and non-economic benefits impacted on residents’ pro-environmental behaviors through perceived positive tourism impact as a mediator. These findings enriched literatures in ecotourism and had managerial value for the practitioners in domestic ecotourism community
Bi2O2Se nanowires presenting high mobility and strong spin-orbit coupling
Systematic electrical transport characterizations were performed on
high-quality Bi2O2Se nanowires to illustrate its great transport properties and
further application potentials in spintronics. Bi2O2Se nanowires synthesized by
chemical vapor deposition method presented a high field-effect mobility up to
1.34*104 cm2V-1s-1, and exhibited ballistic transport in the low back-gate
voltage (Vg) regime where conductance plateaus were observed. When further
increasing the electron density by increasing Vg, we entered the phase coherent
regime and weak antilocalization (WAL) was observed. The spin relaxation length
extracted from the WAL was found to be gate tunable, ranging from ~100 nm to
~250 nm and reaching a stronger spin-obit coupling (SOC) than the
two-dimensional counterpart (flakes). We attribute the strong SOC and the gate
tunability to the presence of a surface accumulation layer which induces a
strong inversion asymmetry on the surface. Such scenario was supported by the
observation of two Shubnikov-de Haas oscillation frequencies that correspond to
two types of carriers, one on the surface, and the other in the bulk. The
high-quality Bi2O2Se nanowires with a high mobility and a strong SOC can act as
a very prospective material in future spintronics.Comment: 22 pages, 7 figure
