    Screening for the optimal siRNA targeting a novel gene (HA117) and construction and evaluation of a derivative recombinant adenovirus

    We found a novel gene named as HA117 in our previous research. At this study, we screened for an optimal siRNA targeting the novel gene HA117 using the pSOS-HUS method, verified the results of pSOS-HUS siRNA screening for optimal affinity for the target gene, and constructed and evaluated a recombinant adenovirus carrying the DNA template for transcription of the optimal HA117 siRNA. The pSOS-HUS vector method was successfully utilized as a rapid and effective screen for an optimal siRNA for a target gene. Among five pairs of DNA templates, siRNA transcribed from HAi5 gave the strongest interference with the novel gene HA117; a HAi5-carrying recombinant adenovirus (Ad-HAi5) was successfully constructed and evaluated, laying a foundation for the further study of HA117 gene function with RNAi technology

    Dynamic Model of Spur Gear Pair with Modulation Internal Excitation

    In the actual measurements, vibration and noise spectrum of gear pair often exhibits sidebands around the gear mesh harmonic orders. In this study, a nonlinear time-varying dynamic model of spur gear pair was established to predict the modulation sidebands caused by the AM-FM modulation internal excitation. Here, backlash, modulation time-varying mesh stiffness, and modulation transmission error are considered. Then the undamped natural mode was studied. Numerical simulation was made to reveal the dynamic characteristic of a spur gear under modulation condition. The internal excitation was shown to exhibit obvious modulation sideband because of the modulation time-varying mesh stiffness and modulation transmission error. The Runge-Kutta method was used to solve the equations for analyzing the dynamic characteristics with the effect of modulation internal excitation. The result revealed that the response under modulation excitation exhibited obvious modulation sideband. The response under nonmodulation condition was also calculated for comparison. In addition, an experiment was done to verify the prediction of the modulation sidebands. The calculated result was consistent with the experimental result

    Superconducting state in the non-centrosymmetric Mg_{9.3}Ir_{19}B_{16.7} and Mg_{10.5}Ir_{19}B_{17.1} revealed by NMR

    We report ^{11}B NMR measurements in non-centrosymmetric superconductors Mg_{9.3}Ir_{19}B_{16.7} (T_c=5.8 K) and Mg_{10.5}Ir_{19}B_{17.1} (T_c=4.8 K). The spin lattice relaxation rate and the Knight shift indicate that the Cooper pairs are predominantly in the spin-singlet state with an isotropic gap. However, Mg_{10.5}Ir_{19}B_{17.1} is found to have more defects and the spin susceptibility remains finite even in the zero-temperature limit.     Evidence for a full energy gap for nickel-pnictide LaNiAsO_{1-x}F_x superconductors by ^{75}As nuclear quadrupole resonance

    We report systematic ^{75}As-NQR and ^{139}La-NMR studies on nickel-pnictide superconductors LaNiAsO_{1-x}F_x (x=0, 0.06, 0.10 and 0.12). The spin lattice relaxation rate 1/T_1 decreases below T_c with a well-defined coherence peak and follows an exponential decay at low temperatures. This result indicates that the superconducting gap is fully opened, and is strikingly different from that observed in iron-pnictide analogs. In the normal state, 1/T_1T is constant in the temperature range T_c \sim 4 K < T <10 K for all compounds and up to T=250 K for x=0 and 0.06, which indicates weak electron correlations and is also different from the iron analog. We argue that the differences between the iron and nickel pnictides arise from the different electronic band structure.     Acute pulmonary embolism combined with acute myocardial infarction as the first manifestation of acute leukemia: a case report

    Thrombotic complications in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are uncommon due to coagulation dysfunction and thrombocytopenia. We report a unique case of AML presenting as concomitant pulmonary embolism and atypical acute myocardial infarction. A 67-year-old male experienced persistent bilateral chest pain. Despite an unremarkable electrocardiogram, elevated D-dimer and mildly increased troponin T levels prompted further investigation, leading to the diagnosis of simultaneous pulmonary embolism and acute myocardial infarction. The patient underwent percutaneous coronary intervention and received triple antithrombotic therapy. However, antithrombotic therapy was discontinued following a sharp decline in hemoglobin and platelet counts, and the patient subsequently developed persistent fever. AML was diagnosed via bone marrow biopsy. Chemotherapy was not initiated due to the patient's deteriorating condition, and he ultimately succumbed to presumed intracranial bleeding
