Design and finite element mode analysis of noncircular gear
The noncircular gear transmission is an important branch of the gear transmission, it is characterized by its compact structure, good dynamic equilibration and other advantages, and can be used in the automobile, engineering machine, ship, machine tool, aviation and spaceflight field etc. Studying on the dynamics feature of noncircular gear transmission can improve the ability to carry loads of, reduce the vibration and noise of, increase the life of the noncircular gear transmission machine, provides guidance for the design of the noncircular gear, and has significant theories and practical meanings. In this paper, the gear transmission technique is used to studied the design method of the noncircular gear, which contains distribution of teeth on the pitch curve, designs of the tooth tip curve and the tooth root curve, design of the tooth profile curve, the gear system dynamics principle is introduced to establish dynamics model for the noncircular gear; basic theory of finite element and mode analysis method are applied, finite element model for the noncircular gear is established, natural vibration characteristic of the noncircular gear is studied. And the oval gear is taken as an example, the mathematics software MathCAD, the 3D modeling software UG and the finite element software ABAQUS are used to realize precise 3D model of the oval gear. The finite element method is used, the natural vibration characteristic of the oval gear is studied, the main vibration types and natural frequencies of the oval gear and that of the equivalent cylindrical gears are analyzed and compared, the conclusions received reflect the dynamics performance of the oval gear, and solid foundation is laid for dynamics research and engineering application of the oval gear transmission
Active fault-tolerant control for an internet-based networked three-tank system
This brief is concerned with the active fault-tolerant control (FTC) problem for an Internet-based networked three-tank system (INTTS) serving as a benchmark system for evaluating networked FTC algorithms. The INTTS has two parts located at Tsinghua University in China and at the University of South Wales in the U.K., respectively, which are connected via the Internet. With the INTTS as an experimental platform, the active FTC problem is investigated for a class of nonlinear networked systems subject to partial actuator failures. Once a specific actuator failure is detected and confirmed by a fault diagnosis unit, the control law is then reconfigured based on the information of the detected fault. Both the stability and the acceptable H∞ disturbance attenuation level are guaranteed for the closed-loop system using the remaining reliable actuators. Extensive experiments are carried out on the active FTC problem of the INTTS with partial actuator failures, and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme is illustrated. The work of X. Dependence of the flux creep activation energy on current density and magnetic field for MgB2 superconductor
Systematic ac susceptibility measurements have been performed on a MgB
bulk sample. We demonstrate that the flux creep activation energy is a
nonlinear function of the current density , indicating a
nonlogarithmic relaxation of the current density in this material. The
dependence of the activation energy on the magnetic field is determined to be a
power law , showing a steep decline in the activation
energy with the magnetic field, which accounts for the steep drop in the
critical current density with magnetic field that is observed in MgB. The
irreversibility field is also found to be rather low, therefore, the pinning
properties of this new material will need to be enhanced for practical
applications.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figures, Revtex forma
Probing and modelling the localized self-mixing in a GaN/AlGaN field-effect terahertz detector
In a GaN/AlGaN field-effect terahertz detector, the directional photocurrent
is mapped in the two-dimensional space of the gate voltage and the drain/source
bias. It is found that not only the magnitude, but also the polarity, of the
photocurrent can be tuned. A quasistatic self-mixing model taking into account
the localized terahertz field provides a quantitative description of the
detector characteristics. Strongly localized self-mixing is confirmed. It is
therefore important to engineer the spatial distribution of the terahertz field
and its coupling to the field-effect channel on the sub-micron scale.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, submitted to AP
