Contractual Dimensions and Buyer-Supplier Perceived Risk: the Moderating Role of Information Technology Integration.

Contract is widely conceived as an effective approach to decrease risk perception and resolve disputes. However, previous literature on the link between contracts and risk perception is contradictory, wherein both positive and negative findings exist. This study provides a novel insight about the mechanism of contractual dimensions and considers the boundary conditions of information technology (IT) integration. Data collected from 225 retailers of a manufacturer support most hypotheses. Specifically, contractual complexity has positive influence on relational risk and contractual recurrence has negative influence on both performance and relational risk. This study further reveals the positive moderating effect of IT integration on the influence of contractual complexity on relational risk and the negative effect of IT integration on the influence of contractual recurrence on relational risk and performance risk. Implications and limitations of the study are discussed

The low toughness of bismaleimide resin (BMI) hinders its application in the aerospace field. In order to improve the strength and toughness of BMI resin simultaneously, this study proposes to introduce perylene-dicyandiamide (P-DCD) nanosheets with an ultra-s rigid conjugated planar structure into the polymer matrix of bismaleimide resin through hydrogen bonding and cross-linking to construct modified composites. The research results showed that the modified cured composites exhibited excellent mechanical properties, with a significant increase in impact strength of 135.8%, flexural strength and flexural modulus of 87.1% and 44.6%, respectively. The thermal properties of the resin were maintained before and after modification, with the glass transition temperature (Tg) of 284.0 ˚C and decomposition temperature > 520 ˚C. Meanwhile, the strengthening and toughening mechanism of the bismaleimide-based system modified by additive P-DCD were also explored. The results showed that the functional group of dicyandiamide in nanosheets and the hydrogen bonding effect in P-DCD synergically increased the cross-linking network and compatibility between P-DCD and the matrix resin

Hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers in patients with periodontitis : a systematic review and meta-analysis

Numerous studies have explored the correlation of periodontal disease (PD) with risk of hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers, but the findings were inconsistent. Therefore, we did a meta-analysis to ascertain the correlation of PD with risk of incident hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers. The authors searched relevant studies in databases (PubMed, Web of Science, and MEDLINE). The summary relative risk (RR) along with 95% confidence interval (CI) was calculated by use of random or fixed effects models. Six studies were included in qualitative synthesis. The pooled analysis revealed that PD was significantly associated with an increased risk of hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers (RR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.07?1.27; P = 0). Stratified analysis showed the association of PD with hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers remained significant in the never smokers (RR = 1.28; 95% CI = 1.07?1.54; P = 0.007), and in the American population (RR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.05?1.30; P = 0.003), respectively. Never smokers population and the American population with PD have a higher risk of developing hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers. PD might be considered as a risk factor for hematopoietic and lymphatic cancers

Magnetic wallpaper Dirac fermions and topological magnetic Dirac insulators

Topological crystalline insulators (TCIs) can host anomalous surface states which inherits the characteristics of crystalline symmetry that protects the bulk topology. Especially, the diversity of magnetic crystalline symmetries indicates the potential for novel magnetic TCIs with distinct surface characteristics. Here, we propose a topological magnetic Dirac insulator (TMDI), whose two-dimensional surface hosts fourfold-degenerate Dirac fermions protected by either the pc4mmp'_c4mm or p4gmp4'g'm magnetic wallpaper group. The bulk topology of TMDIs is protected by diagonal mirror symmetries, which give chiral dispersion of surface Dirac fermions and mirror-protected hinge modes. We propose candidate materials for TMDIs including Nd4_4Te8_8Cl4_4O20_{20} and DyB4_4 based on first-principles calculations, and construct a general scheme for searching TMDIs using the space group of paramagnetic parent states. Our theoretical discovery of TMDIs will facilitate future research on magnetic TCIs and illustrate a distinct way to achieve anomalous surface states in magnetic crystals.Comment: 10+36 pages, 4+23 figures, published versio

Turnover intention and coping strategies among older nursing assistants in China: a qualitative study

IntroductionWith the increasing aging population, older nursing assistants have made significant contributions to institutional eldercare. However, there is a high turnover rate among these workers, and it is crucial to address this issue and find ways to stabilize the workforce. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing turnover intention and coping strategies among older nursing assistants, in order to provide targeted assistance and guidance to reduce their intention to resign and ultimately lower the turnover rate.MethodsQualitative research methods were employed to conduct semi-structured interviews with older nursing assistants in Changsha. The data obtained from these interviews were then analyzed using a phenomenological analysis approach and NVIVO (QSR International, Doncaster, Australia) software version 11.0.ResultsIt is found that several factors influence turnover intention among older nursing assistants. Which include work pay, work environment, professional identity, external motivation, and work pressure. Additionally, the coping strategies employed by these individuals in relation to their intention to resign include self-regulation, seeking support, self-improvement, and exploring motivation.DiscussionIt is also evident from our study that reducing the turnover intention of older nursing assistants requires a collaborative effort from older adult care institutions, functional departments, and eldercare nursing assistants themselves. By addressing the factors influencing turnover intention and providing support and resources for coping strategies, we can work towards stabilizing the workforce and improving institutional eldercare
