Performance and Feasibility Analysis of a Grid Interactive Large Scale Wind/PV Hybrid System Based on Smart Grid Methodology Case Study South Part – Jordan

Most recent research on renewable energy resources main one goal to make Jordan less dependent on imported energy with locally developed and produced solar power, this paper discussed the efficient system of Wind/ PV Hybrid System to be than main power sources for south part of Jordan, the proposed hybrid system design based on Smart Grid Methodology, the solar energy will be installed on top roof of electricity subscribers across the Governorate of Maan, Tafila, Karak and Aqaba and the wind energy will set in one site by this way the capital cost for project will be reduced also the simulation result show the feasibility is a very competitive and feasible cost . Economics analysis of a proposed renewable energy system was made using HOMER simulation and evaluation was completed with the cost per kilowatt of EDCO company, the net present cost is $2,551,676,416, the cost of energy is 0.07kWhr with a renewable fraction of 86.6 %

Study on the appropriate dimensions and position of slots and notches in the ground plane of planar monopole handset antenna for bandwidth enhancement

    Get PDF
A slotted ground plane structure combined with a multiband planar monopole handset antenna for bandwidth enhancement and resonant modes tuning is presented. By simply inserting intelligent modifications using slots and notches to the system ground plane of an internal multiband handset antenna, a significant improvement in the bandwidths of lower bands LTE 700/GSM 850/GSM 900 and upper bands GSM 1800/1900, UMTS, LTE 2300/2500, WiMAX 3500, WLAN 2400/5200/5800 is achieved. The influences of the proposed slots and notches with different positions and dimensions on antenna performance are analyzed by means of simulations and parametric studies. Results show that the proposed ground plane modifications have improved the handset antenna performance to cover 12-band standard operations successfully

Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna-Based Sensors for Liquid Chemical Detection

A compact, cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA), using radio frequency signals to identify different liquids is proposed in this paper. The proposed CDRA sensor is excited by a rectangular slot through a 3-mm-wide microstrip line. The rectangular slot has been used to excite the CDRA for H E M 11 mode at 5.25 GHz. Circuit model values (capacitance, inductance, resistance and transformer ratios) of the proposed CDRA are derived to show the true behaviour of the system. The proposed CDRA acts as a sensor due to the fact that different liquids have different dielectric permittivities and, hence, will be having different resonance frequencies. Two different types of CDRA sensors are designed and experimentally validated with four different liquids (Isopropyl, ethanol, methanol and water)
