    On the linearly polarized gluon distributions in the color dipole model

    We show that the linearly polarized gluon distributions appear in the color dipole model as we derive the full cross sections of the DIS dijet production and the Drell-Yan dijet (γ∗\gamma^* jet correlation) process. Together with the normal Weizs\"acker-Williams gluon distribution, the linearly polarized one will contribute to the DIS dijet production cross section as the coefficient of the cos⁥(2Δϕ)\cos(2 \Delta \phi) term in the correlation limit. We also derive the exact results for the cross section of the Drell-Yan dijet process, and find that the linearly polarized dipole gluon distribution which is identical to the normal dipole gluon distribution involves in the cross section. The results obtained in this paper agree with the previous transverse momentum dependent factorization study. We further derive the small-xx evolution of these linearly polarized gluon distributions and find that they rise as xx gets small at high energy.Comment: 10 pages,v2 with minor revisio

    Dataset for the proteomic and transcriptomic analyses of perivitelline fluid proteins in Pomacea snail eggs

    This article describes how the proteomic and transcriptomic data were produced during a study of the reproductive proteins of Pomacea maculata, an aquatic apple snail laying colorful aerial eggs, and provides public access to the data. The data are related to a research article titled ?An integrated proteomic and transcriptomic analysis of perivitelline fluid proteins in a freshwater gastropod laying aerial eggs? (Mu et al., 2017) [1]. RNA was extracted from the albumen gland and other tissues and sequenced on an Illumina Hiseq. 2000. The assembled transcriptome was translated into protein sequences and then used for protein identification. Proteins from the perivitelline fluid of P. maculata were separated in SDS-PAGE and analyzed by LTQ-Orbitrap Elite coupled to an Easy-nLC.     Decomposition of Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm based on Estimation of Distribution

    Abstract: Decomposition of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm has better distribution, but the number of groups will increase dramatically as the target number increases, seriously affecting the efficiency of the algorithm. This paper presents a decomposition of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on estimation of distribution, the basic idea of which is: to decompose multiple objectives into several single objective first and then to establish the probability model for every single objective based on the idea of estimation of distribution, generating the solution by sampling. Numerical analysis and experiments show that the solution of the new algorithm not only has better diversity and uniformity, but also the computational complexity of the algorithm is significantly lower than the decomposition of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm, especially for optimization of three goals

    On the Momentum Dependence of the Flavor Structure of the Nucleon Sea

    Difference between the uˉ\bar u and dˉ\bar d sea quark distributions in the proton was first observed in the violation of the Gottfried sum rule in deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) experiments. The parton momentum fraction xx dependence of this difference has been measured over the region 0.02<x<0.350.02 < x < 0.35 from Drell-Yan and semi-inclusive DIS experiments. The Drell-Yan data suggested a possible sign-change for dˉ(x)−uˉ(x)\bar d(x)-\bar u(x) near x∌0.3x \sim 0.3, which has not yet been explained by existing theoretical models. We present an independent evidence for the dˉ(x)−uˉ(x)\bar d(x)-\bar u(x) sign-change at x∌0.3x \sim 0.3 from an analysis of the DIS data. We further discuss the xx-dependence of dˉ(x)−uˉ(x)\bar d(x)-\bar u(x) in the context of meson cloud model and the lattice QCD formulation.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures, final versio

    A highly stable, non-digestible lectin from Pomacea diffusa unveils clade-related protection systems in apple snail eggs

    The acquisition of egg protection is vital for species survival. Poisonous eggs from Pomacea apple snails have defensive macromolecules for protection. Here we isolated and characterized a novel lectin called PdPV1 that is massively accumulated in the eggs of Pomacea diffusa and seems part of its protective cocktail. The native protein, an oligomer of ca 256 kDa, has high structural stability, withstanding 15 min boiling and denaturing by SDS. It resists in vitro proteinase digestion and displays structural stability between pH 2.0 and pH 12.0, and up to 85°C. These properties, as well as its subunit sequences, glycosylation pattern, presence of carotenoids, size and global shape resemble those of its orthologs from other Pomacea. Furthermore, like members of the canaliculata clade, PdPV1 is recovered unchanged in feces of mice ingesting it, supporting an anti-nutritive defensive function. PdPV1 also displays a strong hemagglutinating activity, specifically recognizing selected ganglioside motifs with high affinity. This activity is only shared with PsSC, a perivitelline from the same clade (bridgesii clade). As a whole, these results indicate that species in the genus Pomacea have diversified their egg defenses: Those from the bridgesii clade are protected mostly by non-digestible lectins that lower the nutritional value of eggs, in contrast with protection by neurotoxins of other Pomacea clades, indicating that apple snail egg defensive strategies are clade specific. The harsh gastrointestinal environment of predators would have favored their appearance, extending by convergent evolution the presence of plant-like highly stable lectins, a strategy not reported in other animals.Fil: Brola, Tabata Romina.     A Note about the General Meromorphic Solutions of the Fisher Equation

    We employ the complex method to obtain the general meromorphic solutions of the Fisher equation, which improves the corresponding results obtained by Ablowitz and Zeppetella and other authors (Ablowitz and Zeppetella, 1979; Feng and Li, 2006; Guo and Chen, 1991), and wg,i(z) are new general meromorphic solutions of the Fisher equation for c=±5i/6. Our results show that the complex method provides a powerful mathematical tool for solving great many nonlinear partial differential equations in mathematical physics
