Magnetic Nanoparticles Imaging is a new tomographic and molecular imaging method that employs superparamagnetic nanoparticles as the tracer.     The design of an excitation coil for magnetic particles spectrometer (MPS) was described. It was assumed that the spectrometer should measure the spectra of particles of diameter in the range 10-100 nm. To measure the amplitude and phase angle spectra of magnetic nanoparticles it is required to generate sinusoidal alternating spatially homogeneous magnetic field of magnitude of 20 mT. The work volume of the designed spectrometer was 20麓20麓20 mm allowing measurement of small samples. The estimation of magnetic properties of magnetic nanoparticles is crucial in Magnetic Particles Imaging. In this paper we described the excitation coil design which minimizes power losses on the coil related to heat emission.  The resonance circuit operating on 20 kHz frequency was applied. Optimal litze wire configuration was proposed to negate skin and proximity effects. The numeric simulations for the optimal and commercially available suboptimal litze wire configurations were performed. The comparison of the results was shown and discussed. W artykule tym zosta艂a opisana konstrukcja cewki pobudzaj膮cej do wykorzystania w spektroskopii cz膮stek magnetycznych. Do skutecznego pomiaru widm amplitudowych i fazowych cz膮stek magnetycznych potrzebne jest pobudzenie ich sinusoidalnie zmiennym w czasie, ale przestrzenie jednorodnym polem magnetycznym o amplitudzie powy偶ej 20 mT przy cz臋stotliwo艣ci 20 kHz.  Robocza obj臋to艣膰 projektowanego spektrometru zosta艂a ustalona na 20麓20麓20 mm, co pozwala na pomiar ma艂ych pr贸bek. Estymacja parametr贸w magnetycznych nanocz膮steczek jest niezwykle wa偶na do prawid艂owego odtworzenia obrazu w tomografii nanocz膮steczek magnetycznych. Opisana w artykule konstrukcja cewki pobudzaj膮cej pozwala na minimalizacje strat mocy na cewce i zwi膮zanego z tym przegrzewania si臋 uk艂adu. Zaproponowana optymalna konfiguracja lica pozwala skutecznie zmniejszy膰 wp艂yw efektu nask贸rkowego i efektu zbli偶enia. Zastosowano r贸wnie偶 uk艂ad rezonansowy pracuj膮cy przy cz臋stotliwo艣ci 20 kHz. Przeprowadzono symulacje numeryczne pola generowanego przez cewki z wykorzystaniem zar贸wno optymalnych rozwi膮za艅, jak i dost臋pnych na rynku konfiguracji drutu lica.     Comparison of openEHR open-source servers

    Medical information systems could benefit from electronic health records management using openEHR. On the other hand, such a standard adds an additional software layer to the system, which might impact performance. In this article, we present an in-depth comparison of open-source openEHR servers and propose tools for testing them. Load tests for selected open-source servers were prepared using Apache JMeter. Statistics of elapsed time of requests and throughput of each solution were calculated. Results show that open-source openEHR servers significantly differ in performance and stability and prove that load testing should be a crucial part of a development process

    Gain prediction theory of single foil Gas Electron Multiplier detector was developed. Gas electron multiplier (GEM) detector with single foil was developed. Soft X-ray spectra with an energy of 5.9 keV emitted by the isotope Fe-55 were measured. On this basis, the dependence of gain and energy resolution from the detector voltage was determined. The simple theory of gain dependence on various detector parameters was developed. Preliminary results of the study confirmed the potential usefulness of the GEM detector as a substitute for the multiwire proportional chamber.Opracowano teori臋 wzmocnienia jednofoliowego detektora z gazowym powielaniem elektron贸w. Opracowano detektor z gazowym powielaniem elektron贸w z pojedyncz膮 foli膮. Zmierzono widmo mi臋kkiego promieniowania X, o energii 5,9 keV, emitowanego przez izotop Fe-55.     The article concerns the research on the properties of core-shell superparamagnetic nanoparticles in the context of their use in medicine for diagnostics and therapy. The article presents a system for impedance (AC) spectroscopy of nanoparticles with a new arrangement of receive coils. A significant modification was the position of the reference coil in relation to the receive coils as well as the method of winding and routing the wires on the carcass. The 3D printing technique was used in the production of the measuring coil system. The aim of the work was to experimentally verify the developed measurement system and analyze its properties. The system tests were carried out at low frequencies ranging from 2 to 50 kHz. Complex magnetic susceptibility was measured for superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles in polymer shells in a physiological saline solution. The obtained results confirmed the relevance of the concept of the measurements. In summary, the observed properties of the realized system are discussed and further directions of its development are proposed.Artyku艂 dotyczy bada艅 w艂a艣ciwo艣ci nanocz膮stek superparamagnetycznych typu rdze艅-pow艂oka w kontek艣cie wykorzystania ich w medycynie do diagnostyki jak i terapii. Istotn膮 modyfikacj膮 by艂a pozycja cewki referencyjnej wzgl臋dem cewek odbiorczych jak r贸wnie偶 spos贸b nawijania i prowadzenia przewod贸w na karkasie. W realizacji uk艂adu cewek pomiarowych wykorzystana zosta艂a technika druku 3D. Celem pracy by艂a eksperymentalna weryfikacja opracowanego uk艂adu pomiarowego i analiza jego w艂asno艣ci. Testy uk艂adu zosta艂y przeprowadzone dla niskich cz臋stotliwo艣ci w zakresie od 2 do 50 kHz. Pomiary zespolonej podatno艣ci magnetycznej dokonano dla nanocz膮stek superparamagnetycznych tlenku 偶elaza w otoczkach polimerowych w roztworze soli fizjologicznej.     Hardness of Densified Wood in Relation to Changed Chemical Composition

    The aim of this study was to evaluate some of the properties of densified poplar and birch wood earlier subjected to partial delignification of cell walls. The effects of delignification are presented as a comparison of the content of basic structural components in wood before and after chemical modification. In birch wood, the lignin content decreased by 20%, while that of cellulose decreased by 9.7% and that of hemicellulose decreased by 64.9%. In poplar, the lignin content decreased by 34.1%, that of cellulose decreaed by 13.5%, and that of hemicellulose decreased by 58.0%. The hardness of densified birch and poplar wood, after partial reduction of chemical components, was 147 and 111 MPa, respectively, and, compared with natural (non-densified) wood, was almost 4.5 times and 7 times higher, respectively. Poplar wood was more densified (without delignification 238% and after delignification 281%). In the case of birch wood, the density levels were 176% and 188%, respectively
