Environmental Improvement Of Opencast Mining
Existing classifications of waste dumps in the quarries are given and their phenomenological nature is clarified. The need to identify the essence of the term "dump" is shown as well as the idea of "dump" as an artificial formation with everted and mixed rocks distanced from the quarry. Essential classification of man-made rock formations in quarries is developed. Characteristic of variations of man-made waste formations in quarries is developed. To reduce harmful effects of open-pit mining, dumps should be substituted with strat-lays - man-made structures relevant to natural stratification of litho-substances. Construction of strat-lays would improve ecological and technological culture of open cast mining

В статті представлена частотно-перестроювана кільцева діелектрична резонансна антена. Перевагами запропонованої конструкції антени є широкий діапазон перестройки і підвищення ефективності випромінювання. Представлені основні характеристики антени, а також аналіз залежностей центральної робочої частоти антени, коефіцієнту стоячої хвилі та діаграм спрямованості в залежності від відносного положення кільцевих частин діелектричного резонатора. Був досліджений вплив відношення внутрішнього до зовнішнього радіусів кільцевого діелектричного резонатора на ефективність перебудови частоти та ефективність випромінювання.A frequency tunable ring dielectric resonator antenna is presented in the paper. Advantages of the proposed antenna design are the wide range of adjustments and increasing of the radiation efficiency. The basic antenna characteristics, and also analysis of dependencies of the antenna’s central operating frequency, voltage standing wave ratio and radiation pattern versus the relative position of the ring dielectric resonator parts are presented. The influence of the inner to outer ring radius ratio on the efficiency of frequency tuning, radiation efficiency are investigated.В статье представлена частотно перестраиваемая кольцевая диэлектрическая резонансная антенна. A review of the literature is devoted to the problem of complications after arthroscopic reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament. The authors covered questions of epidemiology and surgical technique, touched on important aspects of the main complications, such as graft damage, arthrofibrosis and impingement syndrome, the formation of synovial cysts, infections, the development of osteoarthritis and cartilage degeneration. Despite the prevalence of pathology, a huge number of publications and the development of arthroscopic surgery, there are many theoretical and technical problems, that have not yet found a satisfactory solution and require further development. Relative luminosity measurement of the LHC with the ATLAS forward calorimeter
In this paper it is shown that a measurement of the relative luminosity
changes at the LHC may be obtained by analysing the currents drawn from the
high voltage power supplies of the electromagnetic section of the forward
calorimeter of the ATLAS detector. The method was verified with a reproduction
of a small section of the ATLAS forward calorimeter using proton beams of known
beam energies and variable intensities at the U-70 accelerator at IHEP in
Protvino, Russia. The experimental setup and the data taking during a test beam
run in April 2008 are described in detail. A comparison of the measured high
voltage currents with reference measurements from beam intensity monitors shows
a linear dependence on the beam intensity. The non-linearities are measured to
be less than 0.5 % combining statistical and systematic uncertainties.Comment: 16 page

Measurement of the semileptonic charge asymmetry in B0 meson mixing with the D0 detector
We present a measurement of the semileptonic mixing asymmetry for B0 mesons,
a^d_{sl}, using two independent decay channels: B0 -> mu+D-X, with D- ->
K+pi-pi-; and B0 -> mu+D*-X, with D*- -> antiD0 pi-, antiD0 -> K+pi- (and
charge conjugate processes). We use a data sample corresponding to 10.4 fb^{-1}
of ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV, collected with the D0 experiment at
the Fermilab Tevatron collider. We extract the charge asymmetries in these two
channels as a function of the visible proper decay length (VPDL) of the B0
meson, correct for detector-related asymmetries using data-driven methods, and
account for dilution from charge-symmetric processes using Monte Carlo
simulation. The final measurement combines four signal VPDL regions for each
channel, yielding a^d_{sl} = [0.68 \pm 0.45 \text{(stat.)} \pm 0.14
\text{(syst.)}]%. This is the single most precise measurement of this
parameter, with uncertainties smaller than the current world average of B
