    Pulverizer is one of the most important equipment in PLITU PAITON Unit 8, the pulverizer has supporting equipment, one of which is the pyrites hopper system. The functions pyrites hopper is to accommodate coal reject from pulverizer which will be directed towards SSCC using a jet pump. The occurrence of backflow causes damage to the pulverizer on the floor plate. Thermal stress occurs because the backflow of the BA-300 piping flow that enters the pulverizer floor plate temperature drops. This research discusses the backflow causes that occur in the BA-300 pipeline and alternative solutions. This research phase starts from the identification of backflow problems, data collection and literature study regarding backflow on the swing check valve, as well as CFD (Comptational Fluid Dynamics), modeling of existing BA-300 piping system, search and evaluation of alternative solutions. From the simulation results, the coal particles are sandwiched between the disc and casing check valve because the coal particles settle at the bottom of the check valve, which is caused by the amount of flow rate of coal 2.6 kg / s. Of the 6 variations made, the reduction in flow rate with the amount of 1.7 kg / s was not found again pinched coal even though there was still a bit of coal sequestration.Keyword : Backflow, CFD, Swing check valve model

    Abstract - Plumbing system planning is an important part of planning a building. The construction of the Rungkut Tower Apartment building requires planning a good plumbing system to meet the needs of clean water and hot water for its residents. This study aims to plan a plumbing system for clean water and hot water in Rungkut tower Apartment building. Plumbing system planning refers to SNI 03-7065-2005 concerning Procedures for Plumbing System Planning. Meeting the needs of clean water is planned to use a water source from the PDAM pumped to the roof tank (roof tank) and flowed gravitationally to each plumbing tool. The results of the calculation of the average water requirements of an apartment building are 61080 liters / day. The capacity of the roof tank needed to hold clean water is 32000 liters. The diameter of the clean water pipe needed is 15-150 mm. Pump power required is 22,858 kW. The hot water system using a water source from the roof tank is run using a circulation pump. The results of calculating hot water requirements on average are 29185 liters / day. The type of pipe planned for this plumbing system for clean water and waste water is a Polypropylene Random pipe (PPR) the amount of the material cost budget plan is Rp. 6.515.683.003,96 &nbsp

    Abstract - The Gresik Crude Palm Oil industrial company stores the production of Crude Palm Oil in Shelves measuring 8 x 4 x 4 m with a volume of 128 m3. The need for a fire extinguisher installation in the form of foam chamber in the form of foam fluid by adjusting MSDS Crude Palm Oil to cope in the event of a fire. The problems discussed in this study include among others the design of the installation of Foam Chamber to protect Crude Palm Oil storage. Then calculate the amount of water requirements, the number of foam needs and the pump capacity needed in the form of a manual calculation and the Pipe Flow Expert Software for comparison. After doing the final stage of the discussion is the estimated Material Cost needed. Crude Palm Oil storage has a surface area of ​​32 m2. Discharge time is 30 minutes with application rate maks 2,76 m3/min. Crude Palm Oil storage has 1 outlet discharge by laying 1 m (1 ft) above the surface of the storage rack.     In the pump discharge pipeline of TPL 1-PM-002C suffered disk damage at the check valve which serves to prevent backflow to the pump resulting in a considerable passing pressure running through the 1-8 "-PKS-CM-1019 pipeline even though the line has closed and diverted to another pipe line so that a major effect on the fuel distribution system. The simulation results show that the largest pressure increase due to a water hammer of 130 Bar from the pressure of 47 Bar and Pressure Relief Valve operation can reduce the pressure increase greater than Bladder Accumulator design to 3, which is equal to 60,5 bar while Bladder Accumulator design 3 reducing the maximum pressure increase of 76.4 Bars. So it can be concluded that the design using Pressure Relief Valve is a design with optimum operational results to overcome the influence of water hammer against pipes and check valve on pipeline 1-8 "-PKS-CM-1019
