Reduction of Switching Losses in VSC Using DC Link Fuzzy Logic Controller
The main objective of a soft switching circuit is to reduce the switching losses in a static converter when is switched at high frequency. In this paper a DC link fuzzy logic controller applied to a VSC (voltage source converter). The lossless switching is tested in a parallel VSC and is verified the effect of the soft switching circuit in MATLAB-SIMULINK. During the switching interval some power is dissipated in power transistors. A VSC in parallel to the DC link is added in simulation to show the instantaneous power in any switch. Keywords: fuzzy logic controller with rule-viewer, dc link, soft switching, voltage source inverter, lossless switchin
An Efficient Approach for Cost Optimization of the Movement of Big Data
With the emergence of cloud computing, Big Data has caught the attention of many researchers in the area of cloud computing. As the Volume, Velocity and Variety (3 Vs) of big data are growing exponentially, dealing with them is a big challenge, especially in the cloud environment. Looking at the current trend of the IT sector, cloud computing is mainly used by the service providers to host their applications. A lot of research has been done to improve the network utilization of WAN (Wide Area Network) and it has achieved considerable success over the traditional LAN (Local Area Network) techniques. While dealing with this issue, the major questions of data movement such as from where to where this big data will be moved and also how the data will be moved, have been overlooked. As various applications generating the big data are hosted in geographically distributed data centers, they individually collect large volume of data in the form of application data as well as the logs. This paper mainly focuses on the challenge of moving big data from one data center to other. We provide an efficient algorithm for the optimization of cost in the movement of the big data from one data center to another for offline environment. This approach uses the graph model for data centers in the cloud and results show that the adopted mechanism provides a better solution to minimize the cost for data movement
2,9-Dimethyl-7-phenyl-N-(4-methylphenyl)dibenzo[b,h][1,6]naphthyridin-6-amine
The title compound, C31H25N3, was synthesized from 6,4′,4′′-trimethyl-2,4-bis(N-phenylamino)quinoline and is the first structural example containing a phenyl and phenylamino fragment attached to a fused dibenzo[1,6]naphthyridine moiety. The fused tetracyclic ring system is essentially planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.08 (3) Å]. The phenyl ring and the phenylamino group are inclined by 82.68 (6) and 35.31 (5)°, respectively, to the mean plane of the fused tetracyclic ring system. A weak intramolecular N—H⋯π(arene) interaction may in part influence the conformation of the molecule. In the crystal, molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds into centrosymmetric dimers. Additional stabilization is provided by weak C—H⋯π and π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distances = 3.834 (2) and 3.898 (1) Å]
A Comparative study of product life cycle and its marketing applications
In this paper we explain the product life-cycle models that studies a set of strategic choices facing manufacturers as they design the product/service bundle which may require maintenance and repair support after its sale. Traditional market analysis relies on purely macroeconomic and political factors and fails to account for an emerging market's dynamism and future potential. The objective of this paper is to present all composed product life cycle (PLC) specific to the assessment of emerging markets at domestic and international expansion opportunities. Based on the literature pointing out the product life cycle in domestic and international markets with graphic presentation and models the need for a specialized composite and comprehensive approach, additional criteria are introduced to assess emerging market potential. Emerging markets provided the rationale for the product life cycle in dealing with common product life cycle (FMCG), retail PLC, industrial products PLC, services PLC, engineering PLC and international PLC criteria. Marketing with PLC philosophy gives insights to practicing managers to follow the options and make visionary decisions for products they are dealing with. Composite PLC has been overlooked in literature and this paper will fill the gaps by collective study on five market conditions. Evaluation of Ferrocene Derivatives as Burn Rate Modifiers in AP/HTPB-Based Composite Propellants
Some ferrocene derivatives like 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine derivative of acetyl ferrocene, 1-pyrrolidinylmethyl ferrocene, di-ter-butyl ferrocene and 1,3-diferrocenyl-l-butene (DFB) have been synthesised and characterised by infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet, iron content, etc. To study the effect of their incorporation on performance, ammonium perchlorate/hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene-based composite propellants containing these derivatives have been prepared and studied for burn rates, tensile strength and percentage elongation followed by their static test evaluation. A comparison of the properties of propellant containing solid and liquid ferrocene derivatives has been made with those containing Fe/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and n-butyl ferrocene, respectively. The data clearly indicates that these ferrocene derivatives are better than Fe/sub 2/O/sub 3/ and n-butyl errocene. Also, DFB is the best among these derivatives. Like composite propellants, DFB increases burn rate in fuel-rich propellants also
A novel hierarchical template matching model for cardiac motion estimation
Cardiovascular disease diagnosis and prognosis can be improved by measuring patient-specific in-vivo local myocardial strain using Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Local myocardial strain can be determined by tracking the movement of sample muscles points during cardiac cycle using cardiac motion estimation model. The tracking accuracy of the benchmark Free Form Deformation (FFD) model is greatly affected due to its dependency on tunable parameters and regularisation function. Therefore, Hierarchical Template Matching (HTM) model, which is independent of tunable parameters, regularisation function, and image-specific features, is proposed in this article. HTM has dense and uniform points correspondence that provides HTM with the ability to estimate local muscular deformation with a promising accuracy of less than half a millimetre of cardiac wall muscle. As a result, the muscles tracking accuracy has been significantly (p<0.001) improved (30%) compared to the benchmark model. Such merits of HTM provide reliably calculated clinical measures which can be incorporated into the decision-making process of cardiac disease diagnosis and prognosis
Optimizing the Load Frequency of a Two-Area Interlinked Power System using Artificial Intelligence Techniques
Power costs are increasing on a daily basis, generating changes in system frequency and causing serious concerns with system stability. It has become a major problem to offer customers with uninterrupted and high-quality power. To mitigate these issues, a linked power system's load distribution and network frequency should be constantly reviewed. Load frequency control adjusts the generator's energy output and tie line power between prescribed limits. As well as regulating generator output power, load frequency control also adjusts tie line power. The disturbance in the frequency due to different load changes is regulated using the proposed scheme. In this article, a two-area load frequency control system is constructed and evaluated using various control approaches, including a proportional integral derivative (PID) controller, a proportional integral (PI) controller, a fuzzy logic-based controller, and an Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The goal is to assess the power system's resilience under different loading conditions with these control schemes. The performance of the controllers is compared based on peak-undershoot, peak-overshoot, and settling time, focusing on tie line power and frequency response. To achieve this, the design is implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK software
Effect of hydroxychloroquine in viral clearance in nCOV-19 infected patient admitted in tertiary care centre, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India
Background: In view of recent publications of conflicting evidence on the safety and efficacy of hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis and as a treatment for COVID-19 patients, we need to assess the effect of hydroxychloroquine in COVID-19 patients of authors own local population. Methods: In this retrospective chart review study, categorization of confirmed COVID-19 cases nasopharyngeal swab of RT-PCR was done into a group of patients who received hydroxychloroquine standard dose and another control group who did not receive hydroxychloroquine. The main comparing parameter was to see virus clearance days across both groups. Results: A total of 112 patients were included for the study, and grouped of 72 patient who received HCQS and remaining 40 patients as control. The virus clearance time in days was found to be 9.01±3.08 for HCQS group and for control group it was 8.64±2.34 days (Man Whitney U test value = 2.13, p=0.756).Conclusions: There is no significant difference found in attaining virus negative status with use of HCQS administration in this study
