The first french arboretum was founded en 1540. Since then, many such gardens have been
planted to prevent rare species from disappearing, to study interesting hybrids and to acclimate
trees from other countries, so as to enrichen the domestic flora. For example, french
flora has only 8 species of oaks while in North America there are 32 different species. The
