Caminhos metodológicos para uma leitura de suplementos infantis

This paper can be useful and revealing of the methodological avenues of the research 'Propositions for a children's paper', suppported by the CNPq and developed by the University of Brasília. Such a methodology can be summed up as the interpretation of children's supplements (children's papers) enclosed in leading Brazilian newspapers. Our hypothesis was that these little papers make up an adult's reading, although they are dressed up with children's themes. No dia 18 de outubro de 2000, às margens do lago Paranoá, em Brasí­lia, um encontro reuniu quatro dirigentes da Associação Brasiliense de Comunicação e Semiótica - ABSB, entidade filiada à Associação Brasileira de Semiótica e à IASS - International Association for Semiotic Studies. O debate, registrado no presente texto, girou em torno da inter-relação entre Comunicação e Semiótica, transitando por conceitos próximos como alegoria, sí­mbolo, signo, metodologia, linguagem, significação, complexidade, texto, discurso e ideologia. Palavras chave metodologia, alegoria, significação, linguagem, discurso. Abstract This text is the result of a conversation between four directors of the Associação Brasiliense de Comunicação e Semiótica - ABSB, occurred besides the Paranoá lake in Brasí­lia at Oct/18/2000. The main issue of the debate deals with the inter-relation between Communication and Semiotics. It treats, also, of related terms as allegory, symbol, sign, methodology, language, meaning, complexity, text, discourse and ideology. Key words methodology, allegory, meaning, language, discourse
