The Development and the Evaluation of a System for Extracting Events from Web Pages

    Get PDF
The centralization of a particular event is primarily useful for running news services. These services should provide updated information, if possible even in real time, on a specific type of event. These events and their extraction involved the automatic analysis of linguistic structure documents to determine the possible sequences in which these events occur in documents. This analysis will provide structured and semi-structured documents in which the unit events can be extracted automatically. In order to measure the quality of a system, a methodology will be introduced, which describes the stages and how the decomposition of a system for extracting events in components, quality attributes and properties will be defined for these components, and finally will be introduced metrics for evaluation.Event, Performance Metric, Event Extraction System

This article treats on the behaviour of fiscal autorities of the twelve new state members of the EU during the post-adhesion period. We analyze the factors which determined the fiscal consolidations of the new member states, identifying two groups of stastability pact, budgetary deficit, excessive deficit procedure

The impact of ias/ifrs on the romanian accounting rules

The accounting standardization process is in progress at international regional level, more and more countries have reached the same conclusion of enforcing high quality accounting standards like IAS/IFRS. At international level, on one hand it is thought to implement IASB's international standards and on the other hand, to converge American standards with IASB standards. There are various reasons for Romania adopting the IASB reference system, but most of them are subordinated to the central aim, respectively EU accession. There are also some secondary reasons required by the IAS/IFRS transition, which in our country is less present than in more economic developed countries. In our country accountancy is subordinated to the taxation system, financing still comes prevalent from banks and very few Romanian companies are listed on foreign capital markets. According to this, starting with 2006 the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as presented and published by the International Accounting Standards Board, shall be applied in Romania by the following categories of companies: trade companies applying OMF no. 94/2001, loan institutions, assurance and reassurance companies, institutions supervised by the National Commission for Movable Assets, independent public companies and other state owned companies, companies to be consolidated by a company applying IFRS standards, companies, which at the end of the previous year fulfilled two of the following three criteria: turnover exceeding EUR 7.3 Million, total assets over EUR 3.65 Million, average number of employees over 50, as well as other companies subject to the Finance Ministry’s approval.romanian accounting rules, IAS/IFRS, romanian accounting normalization body, capital market

Perforated small intestine in a patient with T-cell lymphoma; a rare cause of peritonitis

    Get PDF
The nontraumatic perforations of the small intestine are pathological entities with particular aspects in respect to diagnosis and treatment. These peculiarities derive from the nonspecific clinical expression of the peritonitis syndrome, and from the multitude of causes that might be the primary sources of the perforation: foreign bodies, inflammatory diseases, tumors, infectious diseases, etc. Accordingly, in most cases intestinal perforation is discovered only by laparotomy and the definitive diagnosis is available only after histopathologic examination. Small bowel malignancies are rare; among them, lymphomas rank third in frequency, being mostly B-cell non Hodgkin lymphomas. Only 10% of non-Hodgkin lymphomas are with T-cell. We report the case of a 57 years’ old woman with intestinal T-cell lymphoma, whose first clinical symptomatology was related to a complication represented by perforation of the small intestine. Laparotomy performed in emergency identified an ulcerative lesion with perforation in the jejunum, which required segmental enterectomy with anastomosis. The nonspecific clinical manifestations of intestinal lymphomas make from diagnosis a difficult procedure. Due to the fact that surgery does not have a definite place in the treatment of the small intestinal lymphomas (for cases complicated with perforation), and beyond the morbidity associated with the surgery performed in emergency conditions, prognosis of these patients is finally given by the possibility to control the systemic disease through adjuvant therapy

Accelerating Constrained SIRTwith Applications in Tomographic Particle Image Reconstruction

    Get PDF
We investigate a constrained version of simultaneous iterative reconstruction techniques(SIRT) from the general viewpoint of projected gradient methods. This connection enable us to assess the computational merit of this algorithm class. We borrow a leaf from numerical optimization to cope with the slow convergence of projected gradient methods and propose an acceleration procedure based on the spectral gradient choice of steplength as in [2] and a nonmonotone strategy [17,4]. We compare these schemes and present numerical experiments on some algebraic image reconstruction models with sparsity constraints, with particular attention to tomographic particle image reconstruction. The performance of both constrained SIRT and nonmonotone spectral projected gradient approach is illustrated for several constraining strategies
