On an easy transition from operator dynamics to generating functionals by Clifford algebras

    Get PDF
Clifford geometric algebras of multivectors are treated in detail. These algebras are build over a graded space and exhibit a grading or multivector structure. The careful study of the endomorphisms of this space makes it clear, that opposite Clifford algebras have to be used also. Based on this mathematics, we give a fully Clifford algebraic account on generating functionals, which is thereby geometric. The field operators are shown to be Clifford and opposite Clifford maps. This picture relying on geometry does not need positivity in principle. Furthermore, we propose a transition from operator dynamics to corresponding generating functionals, which is based on the algebraic techniques. As a calculational benefit, this transition is considerable short compared to standard ones. The transition is not injective (unique) and depends additionally on the choice of an ordering. We obtain a direct and constructive connection between orderings and the explicit form of the functional Hamiltonian. These orderings depend on the propagator of the theory and thus on the ground state. This is invisible in path integral formulations. The method is demonstrated within two examples, a non-linear spinor field theory and spinor QED. Antisymmetrized and normal-ordered functional equations are derived in both cases.Comment: 23p., 76kB, plain LaTeX, [email protected]

New Exact Solutions of a Generalized Shallow Water Wave Equation

In this work an extended elliptic function method is proposed and applied to the generalized shallow water wave equation. We systematically investigate to classify new exact travelling wave solutions expressible in terms of quasi-periodic elliptic integral function and doubly-periodic Jacobian elliptic functions. The derived new solutions include rational, periodic, singular and solitary wave solutions. An interesting comparison with the canonical procedure is provided. In some cases the obtained elliptic solution has singularity at certain region in the whole space. For such solutions we have computed the effective region where the obtained solution is free from such a singularity.Comment: A discussion about singularity and some references are added. Analysis of the Causes for Renal Dysfunction during Antibiotic Therapy in a Patient with Lyme Disease

Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) are recorded throughout the lifecycle of a medicinal product. In the post-marketing period, new ADRs are primarily identified via drug safety signals. In order to assess a signal and establish causality between an adverse drug reaction and a suspected medicinal product, it is necessary to evaluate the signal strength and quality. The aim of the study was to analyse the information submitted to Russian regulatory authorities by a patient and check it for a potential causal association of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (ATIN) with the use of ceftriaxone and with the patient’s principal diagnosis, Lyme disease.Materials and methods: the authors analysed the patient’s submission received by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in 2022 with a complaint that the treatment of Lyme disease with ceftriaxone had caused ATIN. The probability of a causal relationship between the medicinal product and the ADR was evaluated using the Naranjo algorithm. Results: according to the review of literature and the spontaneous reports collected in Pharmacovigilance 2.0, the database in the Automated Information System of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, both ceftriaxone and the underlying condition (Lyme disease) may cause renal abnormalities. Ceftriaxone is potentially nephrotoxic; it mainly affects the tubular system of the kidneys. Borreliosis may cause kidney damage as well; such damage manifests clinically as rapidly progressing and fatal damage to the glomeruli. Conclusions: the probability of a causal relationship between the development of ATIN in the complainant and the use of ceftriaxone was categorised as “possible”. However, the information available did not allow for establishing a definite relationship between kidney damage and the use of the medicinal product. Further monitoring of similar cases is necessary to minimise the risks of developing this pathology during treatment with ceftriaxone

Incoherent scattering from dielectric metasurfaces under the influence of electromagnetic eigenmodes

Anomalous optical properties of microscopically inhomogeneous dielectric films placed on a thick metal sublayer are investigated. We study the reflection, scattering, and absorption of the coherent electromagnetic radiation as a function of the incidence angle. Computer simulations show the existence of the incidence angle of the laser beam when the scattering and absorption increase simultaneously for the s-polarization so that almost 60% of the incident light goes in the scattering channel. The critical angle corresponds to the excitation of Fabry-Perot mode. The effect makes it possible to manipulate the reflection from the metafilms
