One of the core goals of ProjectÔ is to demonstrate the efficacy of adopting water reuse technologies to shift towards a circular economy for long-term, sustainable water management. While globally water reuse is of great interest to contrast the projected increase in global and local water demands, water loops have the potential to become an essential component of integrated water management strategies in water stressed regions. This deliverable D4.1 (Multi-objective water planning portfolios design under baseline conditions) illustrates the output of the activities carried out in Task 4.1 (Multi-objective water planning portfolios design) for Demo site 1, the case study of the Apulian Aqueduct (AQP) system, Italy. Water portfolios have been assessed through a set of indicators, including 1) water reuse cost, which refers to the cost of the treatment technology; 2) operating cost of the distribution network as dictated by the energy price (e.g., for pumping and treatment); 3) water supply deficit for farmers, urban drinking water and industry measured as the quadratic difference between supply and demand
