For decades the trans-frontier conurbation of Geneva has suffered from a recurring housing shortage, and the supply of land has been clearly recognized by local professionals as one of the main factors in a resolution of this problem. The cross-boundary nature of the study area presents a dual interest. On the one hand, the three existing political and administrative systems constitute a relatively diverse range of situations and the complexity of the context - one conurbation, 220 communes, but three states (France, Canton Geneva and Canton Vaud) has led some stakeholders to consider it as a laboratory for experiments in terms of working methods with consultations and research conducted in parallel with the application of different operational approaches. The work discussed concludes by noting some key points that could help integrate land supply into the processes of urban production and with other factors that affect feasibility; its careful coordination with other relevant public policies; the establishment of time frames relevant to different stages of implementation and an approach that connects land policies, urban planning and infrastructure provision within a framework resulting in financial feasibility

The author was chorister in the chapel of the exiled Marguerite de Valois at Usson, and spent nine years in the monastery of la Grande Chartreuse. Dom Polycarpe displays a remarquable knowledge of Patristic and Humanist sources, and a taste for Greek, Latin and French contemporary poetry. The rhetoric of LâAdieu du Monde combines quotations from these sources, supported by learned disquisitions, with a relentless denunciation of Church grandees, courtiers and women. Dom Polycarpe summons his authorities as judges and witnesses to his contempt. Nevertheless, his learned rhetoric and his exposĂ© of wordly vanities do not succeed in concealing a sensuality that still haunts him. Between spiritual and sensual love, the áŒÏÏÏ that inspires the text is closer to Philo and Gregory of Nyssa than to Saint Bernardâs áŒÎłÎŹÏη. LâAdieu du Monde is an example of a form of spirituality shared by some humanist circles and of a baroque style of writing practised in the later period of the French Renaissance.LâAdieu du Monde ou Le Mespris de ses vaines grandeurs et plaisirs pĂ©rissables de Dom Polycarpe de la RiviĂšre est paru Ă Lyon en 1619.
DMTs and Covid-19 severity in MS: a pooled analysis from Italy and France
We evaluated the effect of DMTs on Covid-19 severity in patients with MS, with a pooled-analysis of two large cohorts from Italy and France. The association of baseline characteristics and DMTs with Covid-19 severity was assessed by multivariate ordinal-logistic models and pooled by a fixed-effect meta-analysis. 1066 patients with MS from Italy and 721 from France were included. In the multivariate model, anti-CD20 therapies were significantly associated (OR = 2.05, 95%CI = 1.39â3.02, p < 0.001) with Covid-19 severity, whereas interferon indicated a decreased risk (OR = 0.42, 95%CI = 0.18â0.99, p = 0.047). This pooled-analysis confirms an increased risk of severe Covid-19 in patients on anti-CD20 therapies and supports the protective role of interferon
Seen from the summit of the Reculet or the SalĂšve, the "Great Geneva" is perceived as a coherent geographical whole. But the more the gaze arises and refines, the more nuances appear, allowing even to guess the frontier here and there. This article attempts to decipher the links between the perceptible landscape â in all its nuances â and the diversified production processes of the city and the rural space. What are the right land supply policies for housing in the Geneva trans-frontier conurbation?

For young English noblemen of the 17th century, the journey through Europe often involved travelling to Paris and from there to Germany, Geneva and Italy. But many chose to go via Saumur. For some this was just a brief visit, but others stayed longer because of the Protestant Academy founded by Duplessis-Mornay. The correspondence between members of certain families allows us to understand this stage of their journey. In particular we have the letters of two young Scottish noblemen, the Kerr brothers. After having visited Holland in 1654 along with their private tutor, they crossed the Spanish Netherlands and northern France. Leaving Paris, they headed for Saumur where they were to stay for almost a year. Here we can follow the efforts of their tutor to obtain the necessary funds to cover the costs of their journey and stay. This study will enable us to examine the place of travel in France for the nobility of the British Isles
