The term Quality of Life, despite not having a consensual definition, is based on the individual perception of a complete physical, mental and social well-being that permeates a dynamic, broad, subjective and polysemic concept. The individual with a stoma needs post-operative care and help with day-to-day tasks, in addition to self-care and social interactions to remain psychologically and physically healthy, as there are numerous changes in habits and routine of life. From this perspective, the following question arises for the study: What are the impacts of the ostomy in the different life cycles? The objective of this research is to analyze the repercussion of making an intestinal stoma in patients at different stages of life, contributing to the updating of knowledge in multiple assertions. This is a descriptive, qualitative study of the reflective analysis type, based on a literature review on the “interfaces of intestinal ostomies in life cycles”. For that, a narrative review was carried out. Narrative review studies are publications with the purpose of describing and discussing the state of the art of a given subject. The results obtained through the literature review allow us to say that the quality of life of people with a stoma is a fundamental aspect for their physical, emotional and social health. In each life cycle, people with a stoma face specific challenges that affect their routine and their way of relating in society. Finally, it is important to highlight that the quality of life of people with ostomies is not just a matter of choosing the ideal device, but also access to adequate health care and public policies that guarantee access to quality devices and materials. It is important that these individuals are always monitored by a multidisciplinary team, along with a family support network providing self-care and maintenance of their self-image.O termo Qualidade de Vida apesar de não possuir uma definição consensual, se baseia na percepção individual de um completo bem-estar físico, mental e social que permeia um conceito dinâmico, amplo, subjetivo e polissêmico. O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi analisar a repercussão da confecção de um estoma intestinal de pacientes em diferentes estágios da vida, colaborando para a atualização do conhecimento em múltiplas asserções. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, qualitativo do tipo análise reflexiva, elaborado a partir revisão da literatura sobre as “interfaces das estomia intestinais nos ciclos de vida”. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão narrativa. Os estudos de revisão narrativa são publicações com a finalidade de descrever e discutir o estado da arte de um determinado assunto. Os resultados obtidos por meio da revisão de literatura permitem dizer que a qualidade de vida das pessoas com estomia é um aspecto fundamental para a sua saúde física, emocional e social. Em cada ciclo de vida, as pessoas estomizadas enfrentam desafios específicos que afetam a sua rotina e sua forma de se relacionar na sociedade. Por fim, é importante destacar que a qualidade de vida das pessoas com ostomias não é apenas uma questão de escolha do dispositivo ideal, mas também de acesso a cuidados de saúde adequados e de políticas públicas que garantam o acesso a dispositivos e materiais de qualidade. É importante que esses indivíduos estejam sempre sendo acompanhados por uma equipe multiprofissional, junto com uma rede de apoio familiar propiciando o autocuidado, e a manutenção de sua autoimagem

Impactos da estomia instestinal: Perspectivas acerca da vivência do ostomizado

Stoma is a term that has the meaning of mouth. Intestinal stoma is a surgical procedure, which aims to change the path of effluents, exteriorizing part of the intestine on the surface of the abdomen. Thus, with this change, there are several impacts on the lives of individuals who are submitted to this surgical procedure. To identify through the research of articles the impacts that the ostomized go through during their experience from the religious sphere, to the labor. This is a literature review study of a qualitative approach of the reflective descriptive analysis type. The searches were conducted in the BVS and Google academic databases between February and May 2023. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. Twenty-six articles were selected that were consistent with the descriptors presented and with the objective of this review. After the reflective reading, four points were raised about this population: The repercussion of the intestinal ostomy for mental health; Impacts of the intestinal ostomy in the return of the labor activities; The sexual life of the person with intestinal ostomy; The religiosity and spirituality as a support network for the person with intestinal ostomy. It is concluded that the ostomy, despite being a method that aims at improving the quality of life of the person who has it, either permanently or temporarily, generates several impacts on the experience of the ostomized person, affecting different areas. Therefore, this study is of great value in order to analyze these impacts, as well as to demonstrate them in a succinct way.Estoma é um termo que tem significado de boca. A estomia intestinal é um procedimento cirúrgico, que visa alterar o trajeto dos efluentes, exteriorizando parte do intestino na superfície do abdômen. Assim, com esta mudança, há diversos impactos na vida dos indivíduos que são submetidos a este procedimento cirúrgico. Identificar através da pesquisa de artigos os impactos que o ostomizado perpassa durante sua vivência desde o âmbito religioso, até o laboral. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão bibliográfica da literatura de abordagem qualitativa do tipo análise reflexiva descritiva. As buscas foram realizadas nas bases de dados BVS, Google acadêmico entre fevereiro e maio de 2023. Feito a aplicabilidade de critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Foram selecionados 26 artigos que tinham coerência com os descritores apresentados e com o objetivo desta revisão. Após ser feito a leitura reflexiva quatro pontos foram levantados acerca desta parcela populacional: A repercussão da estomia intestinal para a saúde mental; Impactos da estomia intestinal no retorno das atividades laborativas; A vida sexual da pessoa com estomia intestinal; A religiosidade e espiritualidade como rede de apoio para a pessoa com estomia intestinal. Conclui-se que a estomia, apesar de ser um método que visa melhorar a qualidade de vida da pessoa que a possui, seja de modo permanente, seja temporário, gera diversos impactos na vivência do ostomizado, afetando distintos âmbitos. Portanto, este estudo se mostra de grande valia para que se possa analisar estes impactos, bem como demonstrá-lo de modo suscinto.&nbsp

Contributos da estomaterapia para assistência de enfermagem a pessoa com Estomia Intestinal

Stomal therapy is an exclusive specialty of nursing that aims to assist people with stomas, injuries and incontinence, in its preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative aspects in search of improving the quality of life. The care provided by this professional through the ostomy situation, goes from the moment of its indication to the immediate and late postoperative or outpatient phase aiming at the autonomy and rehabilitation of the patient. To identify through a review of scientific studies the contributions of stomal therapy to nursing care for people with intestinal ostomies. This is a literature review research of a qualitative approach of the descriptive reflective analysis type. The searches were performed in the BVS and Google Scholar databases between February and April, 2023. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were made. Articles were selected that had context with the descriptors presented and with the objective of this study. After the reflective reading, six points were highlighted in a category, which are, respectively: The characteristics of a pole or nucleus of stomized people; Attributions of the stomal therapist nurse; Main difficulties listed by the stomal therapist nurse for assistance to the person with intestinal stoma; Recommendations of the stomal therapist nurse for adherence of the collecting equipment; Materials used for the exchange of the collecting equipment; Main complications arising from the intestinal stoma The Polo of stomized people is of great contribution to the stomized,both for qualifying professionals, providing collecting equipment and adjucent protective materials, as well as providing quality care to the stomized.A estomaterapia é uma especialidade exclusiva da Enfermagem que visa a assistência às pessoas com estomas, lesões e incontinências, nos seus aspectos preventivos, terapêuticos e de reabilitação em busca da melhoria da qualidade de vida. The present study aims to ponder on intestinal stomas reflecting the interfaces and repercussions. This is a descriptive, qualitative study of the reflective analysis type, elaborated from a review of the literature about the "interfaces and repercussions of intestinal stomas". For this, a narrative review was carried out. Narrative review studies are publications with the purpose of describing and discussing the state of the art of a certain subject. With the objective of organizing and understanding the data that was collected from the present study, three categories with the following arguments were elaborated: Historical facts about intestinal stomas; Concepts and definitions facing Colostomy and Ileostomy; Interfaces of temporary/provisory and definitive intestinal stomas. Infectious, inflammatory and neoplastic aspects for making an intestinal elimination stoma

Intestinal ostomy is a surgical procedure that aims to change the path of effluents by externalizing part of the intestine on the surface of the abdomen. Life habits are factors that contribute to intestinal infections and inflammation, just as cancer is one of the pathologies that most often causes intestinal ostomies. This study aimed to identify, through review research, primary, infectious, inflammatory and oncological diseases that lead to intestinal infections and inflammations, as well as cancer being one of the pathologies that causes the most in ostomized individuals. A bibliographical review study of the literature with a qualitative approach of the descriptive reflective analysis type was carried out. Important points were reached under the influence of Crohn's disease and its relationship with the creation of an intestinal ostomy; Fournier syndrome related to the reason for creating an ostomy, and for colorectal cancer and the creation of an intestinal ostomy. It is concluded that patients with an intestinal ostomy, whether due to inflammatory diseases such as Crohn's disease, infectious diseases (Fournier Syndrome) or oncological diseases (colorectal cancer), are increasing due to modifiable factors linked to lifestyle, smoking, sedentary lifestyle, morbid obesity and poor eating habits associated with low water intake

Fatores socioeconômicos e culturais da pessoa com estomia intestinal

Stoma also known as “ostomy”, consists of an artificial opening surgically created to divert the flow of effluents to the external environment. This condition affects the life of the affected individuals and requires care when resuming activities to avoid complications related to the surgery. The rate of intestinal stoma has a higher recurrence rate in men and is often associated with urban violence, car accidents, associated with the use of licit and illicit drugs, lower demand and use of Primary Health Care services for preventive measures, seeking medical care only when there is worsening of diseases. This is a descriptive, qualitative study of the reflective analysis type, a narrative review. Thus, we selected and analyzed articles published in the last five years, in Portuguese and that approached the theme, in order to acquire more depth and approximation with the object of study to subsidize the reflections. Seven categories were elaborated, being them, respectively: Everyday life of the person with intestinal stoma; Family income of the person with intestinal stoma; Nutritional interfaces for people with intestinal stomas; Hydric ingestion of the person with intestinal stoma; Smoking, stylism and use of illicit drugs related to the person with intestinal stoma; Leisure and social life of the person with intestinal stoma, and Execution of physical activities by the person with intestinal stoma. thus, the objective of the study is the socioeconomic and cultural factors of the person with intestinal stomy.A estomia, também conhecida como “ostomia”, consiste em uma abertura artificial criada cirurgicamente para desviar o fluxo de efluentes para o meio externo. Essa condição afeta a vida dos indivíduos acometidos e requer cuidados na retomada das atividades para evitar complicações relacionadas à cirurgia. O índice de estoma intestinal tem maior taxa de recorrência em homens e está frequentemente associado à violência urbana, acidentes automobilísticos, associados ao uso de drogas lícitas e ilícitas, menor procura e utilização dos serviços de Atenção Primária à Saúde para as medidas preventivas, buscando atendimento médico somente quando ocorre agravamento das doenças. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, qualitativo do tipo análise reflexiva, uma revisão narrativa. Desta forma, foram selecionados e analisados artigos publicados nos últimos cincos anos, nos idiomas português e que abordassem o tema, no intuito de adquirir maior aprofundamento e aproximação com o objeto de estudo para subsidiar as reflexões.
