In this paper, the interaction of hyaluronic acid (HA) with crystal violet (CV) was investigated carefully by linear sweep voltammetry on the dropping mercury working electrode (DME). In pH 5.0 Britton-Robinson (B-R) buffer solution, CV has a sensitive, well-defined second order derivative linear sweep voltammetric reductive wave at –0.85 V (vs. SCE). After adding a certain amount of HA into CV solution, the reductive peak current decreased without any shift of reductive peak potential. Based on the difference in the reductive peak current, a new voltammetric method for the detection of HA was established. The reaction conditions and the electrochemical determination were studied and optimized. Under the optimized conditions, the decrease of peak current showed a good linear relationship with the HA concentration in the range from 10.0 to 40.0 mg/L. The linear regression equation was got as ∆ip″(nA)= 84.07 C–527.86  (mg/L) (n=8, γ=0.997) and the detection limit was calculated as 2.65 mg/L (3σ). This new established method was further used to HA determination in the synthetic samples with satisfactory results and good recovery. The stoichiometry of CV-HA complex was calculated and the binding mechanism was also discussed by the electrochemical data

Consistency Analysis of Large-scale Energy Storage Batteries

With the development of large-scale electrochemical energy storage power stations, lithium-ion batteries have unique advantages in terms of re-energy density, power density, and cycle life, and are applied to power system energy storage devices. However, behind the rapid development, there are many key issues unanswered, which are likely to lead to various safety accidents. Therefore, it is very important to conduct consistency analysis of lithium batteries used in large-scale power systems to prepare for system safety assessment. This paper mainly explains the reasons and manifestations of the inconsistency, and based on data mining algorithms, uses the charging voltage curve clustering analysis method based on subtractive clustering to evaluate the consistency of lithium-ion batteries

Recombinant VAA-I from Viscum album Induces Apoptotic Cell Death of Hepatocellular Carcinoma SMMC7721 Cells

Researchers have proposed that VAA-I, a specific plant lectin found in Viscum album, has therapeutic effects on cancer and autoimmune diseases. VAA-I has shown some promising treatment results in some types of tumor cell lines, especially SMMC-7721 cells (human hepatocellular carcinoma cells). However, few details are known about the mechanism and process of cell death induced by VAA-I in tumor cells. In this study, the cell morphology results showed that SMMC-7721 cells treated with VAA-I exhibited several features typical of apoptotic cell death, which was confirmed by the Caspase inhibition assay. Fluo-3-acetoxymethyl ester (AM) fluorescence imaging techniques showed that rVAA-I significantly elevated the intracellular calcium level ([Ca2+]i) in SMMC-7721 cells. These findings suggest that apoptosis may play the most important role in SMMC-7721 cell death induced by rVAA-I. Finally, in the SMMC-7721 cells treated with rVAA-I, a series of genes in the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway were expressed differentially, and further found that PI 3-kinase pathway is involved in rVAA-I signal transduction in SMMC-7721 cells

Abstract Background To better understand the efficacy and safety of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable tablets in the treatment of helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)-infected peptic ulcer or gastritis patients. Methods A systematic review of the studies published to June 2022 was performed in English database PubMed, Embase, Chinese database CNKI, Wanfang. There were 17 studies were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The outcomes measured included H. pylori eradication rate, changes in clinical symptoms of epigastric pain scores, and the incidence of adverse reactions. Results The results of the fixed effect model showed that the eradication rate of H. pylori in the combination of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable bacteria tablets combined with bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy was greater than that of bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy, and the difference was statistically significant (OR = 3.73, 95%CI (2.79,5.00), Z = 2.78, P  0.999). The results of random effects model showed that the epigastric pain score of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable bacteria tablets combined with bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy was lower than that of bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy, and the difference was statistically significant (WMD=-0.70, 95%CI (-1.06,-0.34), Z = 3.82, P < 0.001; I2 = 96.7%, P < 0.001). The results of random effects model showed that the acid reflux score of Bifidobacterium quadruple viable bacteria tablets combined with bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy was lower than that of bismuth-containing conventional quadruple therapy, and the difference was statistically significant (WMD=-0.98, 95%CI (-1.70,-0.26), Z = 2.66, P < 0.001; I2 = 99.7%, P < 0.001). Conclusions The eradication rate of H. pylori by Bifidobacterium quadruple viable bacteria tablets combined with bismuth-containing quadruple therapy is better than that of bismuth-containing quadruple therapy. The improvement of clinical symptoms of patients is better than that of bismuth-containing quadruple therapy, and the incidence of adverse reactions is lower than that of bismuth-containing quadruple therapy. Bifidobacterium quadruple viable bacteria tablet combined with bismuth-containing quadruple therapy was effective and safe. It provides a new way to treat patients with H. pylori
