A low level of physical activity (PA) is associated with a regular increase in the risk of Insulin Resistance and Metabolic Syndrome (MS). The aim of our study is to investigate the incidence of MS and alteration of: blood chemistry indices (glucose-lipid parameters, HOMA-IR), blood pressure (BP), Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference/height ratio (W/h), in obese children in relation to the hours of weekly PA

A family history of hypercholesterolemia or Myocardial Stroke is more frequently present in children with MTHFR TT-CT mutation, and this association is a real risk of developing MS in child ow/ob. Primary and secondary prevention is more important than ever for children ow/ob with positive family history for MSt/COL/IA, especially if a MTHFR mutation some sign of Metabolic Syndrome are present
