    Factors Affecting Students’ Continuous Intention to Use Online Art Education Software in Chengdu, China

    Purpose: This study aims to explore the analysis of factors influencing the continuous use of online art education software by private art education institutions in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. The conceptual framework is based on TAM, UTAUT, and IS success model, indicating the relationship between self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, satisfaction, information quality, and continuous intention to use. Research design, data, and methodology: The researchers used quantitative methods (n=500) to distribute questionnaires to students at three private fine arts institutions. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and a structural equation model (SEM) were used for data analysis, including model fitting, reliability, and validity of the structure. Results: The results indicate that satisfaction and attitude are significant factors affecting the continuous use intention of online art education software. Perceived ease of use has the most significant effect on perceived usefulness. Among them, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affect the attitude. Furthermore, information quality significantly impacts students’ satisfaction with using online art education software. However, self-efficacy has no significant effect on perceived ease of use. Conclusions: Therefore, this study suggests that educators should create a more suitable learning platform for combining technology and art in the course design and teaching of online art education software

    Students’ Continuous Intention to Use Online Learning for Art Education in Chongqing, China

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the factors influencing students’ continuous intention to use online learning for art education in Chongqing, China. The conceptual framework incorporates self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and continuous intention. Research design, data, and methodology: This study used a quantitative method to collect information from students with experience in using online software for arts education in two private institutions in Chongqing. Data collection was performed by judgmental sampling, quota and convenience sampling. The data were analyzed by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM). Results: The findings confirm the theory and relationship of attitude and continuous intention to use online art education software. Perceived ease of use had the most significant effect on attitudes but had no significant effect on perceived usefulness. In addition, the effect of self-efficacy on perceived ease of use was significant. Conclusion: The advantage of the perceived usefulness of online art education software is the most important factor that should be emphasized when trying to enhance students’ continuous intention to use online learning software. Therefore, this study suggests that educators should create a more suitable learning platform that can optimize the learning efficiency of students

    In an online learning environment, the majority of teaching and learning are conducted asynchronous communication methods.  The tools such as the learning management system, web forum, social media, e-mail, and others are an example of such tools.  In order to ensure that students can access to the instructors as well as classmates as in traditional learning method, asynchronous communication means should be included as part of teaching and learning.  In modern digital technology, examples of services and software that allow people to communicate synchronously are FaceTime, Skype, LINE, Google Hangout, and others.  Not only that people can communicate via voice but they can also see each other as well.  Thus, the utilization of video conference software can be a part of teaching and learning in online education.  In Thailand, online education degrees is in developing stages and the utilization of the live video conference along with the standard communication mode is getting more well utilized.  Thus, it is necessary to investigate the behavior of past usages and the way that the live video conference mode is utilized for online learning in Thailand.  This research aims to investigate the nature of usages of the Live Video conference features in order to provide a bigger picture of how the system is being utilized by the students and the teachers so that the method of usages can be further study to ensure the effectiveness of the usages as well as implementation of the system in an online learning environment

    Factors Influencing Behavioral Intention Towards MOOC Platform of Jingdezhen Vocational University of Art Students Majoring in Art and Design in Jiangxi Province, China

    The objective of this investigation was to analyze the behavioral intention of students at the Jingdezhen Vocational University of Art who majoring in art and design majors to use the MOOC platform. It was carried out by the researchers using quantitative research techniques. Based on the Theory of Reason and Action (TRA), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), and the Unified Theory of Technology Acceptance and Use (UTAUT), this study develops a conceptual framework. Seven potential variables were chosen to assess the validity of the research tool using project-goal consistency and passed the internal consistency test: self-efficacy, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude, performance expectancy, subjective norm, and behavioral intention. The reliability was evaluated by Cronbach α coefficient through the pilot test. In addition, the sampling strategy was multi-stage sampling. In the course of the study, a face-to-face questionnaire was distributed to 500 professional undergraduates majoring in art and design with MOOC platform experience at the School of Ceramic Art and Design and the School of Digital Art of Jingdezhen Art Vocational University. As statistical analysis tools, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were applied in this research to advance the influence on data, matrix accuracy, basic variables, hypothetical support, and path coefficients. The results revealed that all the hypotheses are suggested, and the subjective norm was the most influential factor that affected art and design majors' behavioral intention to use the MOOC platform

    Evaluating Chinese K-12 CFL/CSL Teachers’ Readiness Toward Interactive Reading Platforms

    Purpose: This paper aims to investigate in-service Chinese teachers' perception of TPACK and readiness for integrating Interactive Reading Platforms when teaching Chinese as a foreign language (CFL) or as a second language (CSL) at K-12 and to determine the effect of TPACK on teachers’ readiness for technology integration. Research design, data and methodology: The research is quantitative in nature, using questionnaires and survey to collect data from samples. 226 teachers responded to the online questionnaires which was based on TPACK model and contained 43 items in total after adjustment for item validation and reliability. The variables were content knowledge (CK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), technological knowledge (TK), technological content knowledge (TCK), technological pedagogical knowledge (TPK) and teacher readiness (TR). Results: Descriptive statistics showed overall high competency and readiness for technology integration, but participants were least confident about TK. Multiple linear regression supported the hypothesis that TPACK could affect TR statistically significantly. TPK had the greatest impact on TR; PK second; TCK third, CK had negative effect on TR. The remaining TK and PCK showed no influence. Conclusions: More study is suggested to investigate the effect of TK and CK on TR. Recommendations and suggestions for future research have been provided

    A CASE STUDY OF THE SCHOOLOGY LMS AT ASSUMPTION COLLEGE ENGLISH PROGRAM

    Blended learning (BL) is a major educational trend that uses technology to enhance and complement traditional classroom learning and may help Thailand achieve educational goals of the “Thailand 3.0” policy. Foreign teachers at Assumption College English Program (ACEP), a private K-12 school near Bangkok, have adopted Schoology Basic, a free learning management system (LMS) to support teaching and learning for all of their courses. This qualitative study used questionnaires and interviews to gather data on the usage, satisfaction, and preferences of students and teachers regarding the LMS, and examine how it fits into BL at the school. Descriptive statistics and thematic analysis were conducted. The study found high satisfaction overall, with higher satisfaction and usage in teachers, but more variation in usage patterns for students. Students and teachers alike prized features relating to submitting work, grade calculation and staying organized, while communication features were largely unused. Both groups had come to value the LMS highly and wished strongly to continue using it, despite various technical annoyances. Regarding improvements, students wished for a chat feature and improved mobile app quality; teachers would like usability and efficiency improvements in the web app. LMS adoption is highly recommended for similar schools

    FACTORS INFLUENCING PURCHASE INTENTION TOWARD ONLINE FOOD DELIVERY SERVICE: A CASE STUDY OF EXPERIENCED CONSUMERS IN HUNAN PROVINCE, CHINA

    The purpose of this research was to identify the factor influence online food delivery service purchasing intention who live in Hunan province, China. The variables that had been used in this study framework were Price value, Health consciousness, Food safety concern, Prestige value, Affordances value and Visibility. The questionnaire was conducted and selected from 200 respondents in Hunan province by using the non-probability sampling method as purposive sampling. The Multiple Linear Regression was applied for hypothesis testing. The result revealed that Food Safety Concern (β = 0.31, p=.02). was the most influence factor toward consumers’ purchasing intention of online food delivery service. Thus, it showed that Food Safety Concern towards online food delivery service was the most important in determining online food delivery service of Hunan province consumers. The finding suggested that by enhancing the consumer purchasing intentions, the online food delivery service owners should rather focus on Food Safety Concern factor

    A MODEL OF DIGITAL PIANO TRAINING SYSTEM TO IMPROVE THE COMPREHENSIVE PERFORMANCE OF PRE-SCHOOL EDUCATION MAJOR SUDENTS: A CASE STUDY AT A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN HUNAN, CHINA

    The purpose of this study is to improve the digital piano comprehensive teaching level of students majoring in preschool education in Hunan province, China. This is a mixed method research, which includes both qualitative and quantitative data. The researcher conducted semi-structure interviews with 8 digital piano group teachers, it is concluded that the digital piano group teachers seldom use the complete teaching system and effective technology to integrate into the actual teaching activities. The researcher then utilized the TPACK framework, to selected Piano Performance Skills, Digital Piano Teaching level and Basic Music theory as Training and evaluation to construct a Digital Piano Training System (DPTS). The DPTS system was tested at a public university in Hunan  province that offers a digital piano course and has 360 pre-school students, 30 students were selected and given a one-month. After comparing pre and posttest, the results revealed that after receiving the DPTS training system, students have significantly improved in three aspects: Piano Performance Skills, Digital Piano Teaching level and Basic Music theory. Therefore, it was concluded and confirmed that the DPTS was the effective teaching tools in piano teaching for preschool education major students. As the result, the institutions should consider implementing DPTS as one of the piano teaching strategies

    DETERMINANTS OF QUALITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION: FACULTY PERSPECTIVE

    There has been a debate amongst academicians as to what quality means in higher education. Quality means differently in each country depending on the context, political context, rules and regulations as what constitutes quality since quality assurance practices vary from country to country as well as quality assurance requirements. Due to these discrepancies, this paper mainly focuses on key players the authors perceive as determinants of quality in higher education and their roles in pursuing continuous quality in the provision of education. They are the institution leaders which include the deans of each school, program directors and team leaders; faculty members, who are active players in the delivery of quality education, have the necessary academic qualifications and commitment and are constantly developing themselves through professional development initiatives; support staff, who provide the technical assistance and support to students and faculty members and the quality of students undertaking programs of study in an educational institution. These people are pivotal in ensuring that each member of the institution takes part in the provision of quality education. The authors believe that quality in education does not exist in paper only but quality means an interplay between the key players mentioned in this paper. This paper also discusses the roles and responsibilities of these important players to ensure quality in higher education

    Art Design Major Undergraduate’s Satisfaction towards Online Education: A Case of Public Universities in Sichuan, China

    The paper aims to evaluate the essential determinants that have a significant effect on satisfaction for online education of art design major undergraduate students from four public universities in the Sichuan Province of China. Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), Attitude (ATT), Performance Expectancy (PE), Effort Expectancy (EE), Social Influence (SI) and Satisfaction (SAT) were all investigated to determine if these constructs influence satisfaction of students with online education. The researcher applied a quantitative exploration approach with 487 samples and distributed the quantitative questionnaire to art design major undergraduates at four target universities. The multistage sampling approach was utilized in this survey. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM) were utilized to determine the relationships of the variables under study.  The entire hypotheses were supported by the results of the data analysis, in which social influence indicated the most powerful direct effect on satisfaction. For students to acknowledge and recognize the effectiveness of online education, university administrators and teaching staffs should pay sufficient attention to the factors which has generated significant influence on the satisfaction of the instruction, and consider the correlated teaching adjust or reform in the future according to the findings of this research.
