Strategic Risk Determinants Influencing Growth of SMEs: The Case of Vietnam
Risk is inherent in all business functions and in every kind of activities. This is especially true for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) that are most exposed to the harmful effects of the risks, due to limited resources and structural features. Therefore, this study is conducted for identifying the relationship and impact strategic risk determinants including Political risks, Technological risks, Social risks on the growth of 30 small and medium forest enterprises (SMFEs) in Dien Bien as the case study. Political risks, Technological risks, Social risks are independent variables and the growth of SMFEs is a dependent variable. Data were collected through the questionnaire survey and using mean, correlation and regression analysis for this paper. The results show that there is a statistically significant negative correlation between strategic risk determinants on SMFEs growth. Keywords: Political risks, Technological risks, Social risks, Growth, SME
Dynamic association between energy transition technologies, renewable energy production, trade openness, green investment, carbon tax, and carbon neutrality: empirical evidences from China
The existing millennium documents the most adverse consequences
of global warming which in contrast to pre-industrial era are
more devastating. Thus, these prevailing consequences raise
numerous concerns regarding the well-being of future and current
generation. Scholars, in this regard, are putting efforts punctiliously
towards methods that could halt the surging emissions. This paper
also attempts to contributes to existing literature by reporting the
empirical evidences regarding the role of energy transition technologies,
renewable energy production (REP), trade openness, green
investment, and carbon taxes in carbon neutrality in Chinse economy
covering the time span of 1980ā2020. By employing Dynamic
Auto-regressive Distributed Lags (DARDL) model to check the association,
findings exposed that electricity production from water
sources, electricity production from solar sources, REP, trade openness,
green investment, and carbon taxes are negatively correlated
with CO2 emissions. Study offers policymakers a help in formulating
policies related to achieve carbon neutrality using renewable
sources of energy production, carbon taxes, and green investmen
Influence of biofertilizer produced using drumstick (Moringa oleifera L.) unused parts on the growth performance of two leafy vegetables
The non-edible parts of Moringa oleifera, such as stems, branches or leaf petioles, have often been discarded while the leaves are consumed as a vegetable or are used to produce organic fertilizer. This study aimed to determine the optimal conditions for producing Moringa organic fertilizer (MOF) from previously unused parts and to compare these fertilizers with cow manure and bio-organic fertilizer. Seventy kilograms of the unused Moringa parts were blended with fifty kilograms of manure, 0.2 kilogram of Trichoderma-based product and two kilograms of superphosphate. The mixture was incubated at different intervals, including 5, 7 or 9 weeks. Next, the effects of MOF on the growth, yield, ascorbic acid content and Brix of lettuce and mustard spinach were also determined and compared with other organic fertilizers (cow manure and bio-organic fertilizer). Results of the study revealed that 25 tons per ha of MOF were significantly superior to those treated with cow manure and bio-organic fertilizer in the case of vegetable yields. Further, 7 weeks of MOF incubation was found suitable to produce an optimal yield during the various incubation period. These results suggested that the Moringa non-edible parts can make organic fertilizer and enhance growth, yield, and leafy vegetable production
REALIZATION OF BROADBAND AND INDEPENDENT POLARIZATION METAMATERIAL PERFECT ABSORBER BASED ON THE THIRD-ORDER RESONANCE
In this report, we studied numerically and experimentally the electromagnetic properties of perfect MAs using ring-shaped structures at microwave frequencies. By creating a magnetic resonance, the ring structure confines electromagnetic energy at the first- and third-order resonances. And then, we leveraged the super-cell structures, which consist of different rings in one unit cell to obtain broadband absorption. The results showed that the absorption band of MA is broaden from 1.3 to 2.17 GHz when the number of rings in the unit cell increases from four to nine-ring
Impact of circular economy practices on financial performance of construction enterprises in Vietnam
The objective of the study is to assess the impact of circular economy practices on financial performance of construction enterprises in Vietnam. The study conducted a survey in 3 months using a survey resulting in 233 valid surveys representing 233 construction enterprises in Vietnam. Using Smart PLS 4.1 software to analyze data, the results show that circular economy practice positively impacts financial performance of circular economy construction and innovation enterprises that play a mediate role in the relationship between circular economy practice and financial performance. Finally, enterprise size has a role to play in moderating impact of circular economy practices on financial performance of construction enterprises in Vietnam
On the Effectiveness of Adversarial Samples against Ensemble Learning-based Windows PE Malware Detectors
Recently, there has been a growing focus and interest in applying machine
learning (ML) to the field of cybersecurity, particularly in malware detection
and prevention. Several research works on malware analysis have been proposed,
offering promising results for both academic and practical applications. In
these works, the use of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) or Reinforcement
Learning (RL) can aid malware creators in crafting metamorphic malware that
evades antivirus software. In this study, we propose a mutation system to
counteract ensemble learning-based detectors by combining GANs and an RL model,
overcoming the limitations of the MalGAN model. Our proposed FeaGAN model is
built based on MalGAN by incorporating an RL model called the Deep Q-network
anti-malware Engines Attacking Framework (DQEAF). The RL model addresses three
key challenges in performing adversarial attacks on Windows Portable Executable
malware, including format preservation, executability preservation, and
maliciousness preservation. In the FeaGAN model, ensemble learning is utilized
to enhance the malware detector's evasion ability, with the generated
adversarial patterns. The experimental results demonstrate that 100\% of the
selected mutant samples preserve the format of executable files, while certain
successes in both executability preservation and maliciousness preservation are
achieved, reaching a stable success rate
The role of green finance, eco-innovation, and creativity in the sustainable development goals of ASEAN countries
Recently, sustainable development has become a global requirement.
Every country strives to achieve this essential goal, and this
attracts the attention of researchers and policymakers. This study
investigates the impact of green finance, eco-innovation, and creativity
on the sustainable development goals in ASEAN countries.
Using CUP-FM and CUP-BC techniques, the study examines the
association between variables, and finds that green finance (such
as green credit), renewable energy production, eco-innovation, and
creativity, have positive associations with sustainable development
goals. The control variable, economic growth, has a negative association
with sustainable development goals. Based on the evidence,
the ASEAN region must increase the quantity of green bonds as a
part of green finance. This financial measure would guarantee
adequate returns for private investors
The role of technological innovation and cleaner energy towards the environment in ASEAN countries: proposing a policy for sustainable development goals
The association between economic growth (EG) and environmental degradation (ED) has been highlighted extensively in prior
studies. However, investigation regarding ātechnological innovation and clean energy roleā in dealing with environmental concerns has comprised limited context while considering the ASEAN
economies under sustainable development goals. Therefore, the
study attempts to investigate the phenomenon by using CS-ARDL
analysis under short as well as long run. The findings through CSARDL in long- and short-run indicate that REN have impact carbon emission and ecological footprints negatively. Additionally,
the EG in targeted economies is causing a higher level of CE and
ecological footprints. Whereas, GDP2ofund to be significant in
lowering the ED in the form of CE and ecological footprints. It is
suggested that policies related to CE through EG should be developed in order to control the environmental issues in the future
Dynamic association between technological advancement, green finance, energy efficiency and sustainable development: evidence from Vietnam
GHG emissions growth of Vietnam is highest all over the globe and
the carbon intensity of this economy is considered second highest
in Asian economies. As the energy intensity level is rising constantly,
thereby, the predictions indicate that Vietnam will become
highest GHG emission in the region. In order to address the issue,
the current article aims to investigate the impact of green finance,
technology advancement, energy efficiency, industrialization, and
population growth on sustainable development in Vietnamese context.
The time chosen for the study is 1991 to 2020. The study has
