Fourth Contribution on Late Eocene Amber Silken Fungus Beetles: a New Baltic Amber Species of Atomaria (Coleoptera, Clavicornia, Cryptophagidae)
Atomaria gedanicola Lyubarsky et Perkovsky, sp. n., a new cryptophagid species from Baltic amber is described. The new species is the first recorded Eocene Atomariinae. The new species is similar to A. fuscipes Gyllenhal. It differs from the latter in having pronotum flat, posterior angles of pronotum obtuse, and antenna short. The record of A. gedanicola syninclused with Ceratopogon biting midge supports the Late Eocene age of the Baltic amber, for the Holarctic affinities of both taxa are incompatible with the paratropical climate characteristic of the Mid-European Middle Eocene.ΠΠΏΠΈΡΠ°Π½ Π½ΠΎΠ²ΡΠΉ Π²ΠΈΠ΄ ΠΊΡΠΈΠΏΡΠΎΡΠ°Π³ΠΈΠ΄ ΠΈΠ· Π±Π°Π»ΡΠΈΠΉΡΠΊΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΡΠ½ΡΠ°ΡΡ β Atomaria gedanicola Lyubarsky et Perkovsky, sp. n. First Records of Scolebythidae and Chrysididae (Hymenoptera, Chrysidoidea) in Rovno Amber
Recorded from the Late Eocene Rovno amber (Ukraine) are above 300 families of Arthropoda. One hundred, seventy-four new species, 35 new genera and one new tribe have been described there in 45 families, including 42 species, 9 genera and one tribe of Hymenoptera. The first record of Scolebythidae is documented herein along with more detail information about Chrysididae which was only mentioned there before. Chrysidids are diverse and not very rare in the Rovno amber: four known inclusions represent at least three species in two genera. This makes a contrast with the Baltic amber: of 34 specimens known to Brues (1933), 30 represent only two species. Genera Pristapenesia Brues, Palaeobethylus Brues and Palaeobethyloides Brues and species Palaeobethylus politus Brues and Pristapenesia primaeva Brues, previously known in Baltic amber only, are recorded in Rovno amber as well.ΠΠ· ΠΏΠΎΠ·Π΄Π½Π΅ΡΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΡΠΎΠ²Π΅Π½ΡΠΊΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΡΠ½ΡΠ°ΡΡ ΠΈΠ·Π²Π΅ΡΡΠ½ΠΎ ΡΠΆΠ΅ Π±ΠΎΠ»Π΅Π΅ 300 ΡΠ΅ΠΌΠ΅ΠΉΡΡΠ² Π°ΡΡΡΠΎΠΏΠΎΠ΄. New Species of Stilbus (Coleoptera, Clavicornia, Phalacridae) from the Late Eocene Rovno Amber
The first Eocene species of Stilbus Seidlitz, 1872, S. bedovoyi Lyubarsky et Perkovsky, sp. n., is described from Late Eocene Rovno amber. S. bedovoyi is most similar to Stilbus atomarius (Linnaeus) and differs from it by smaller body size, strong and large punctation of elytra, and broadly oval apex of elytra.ΠΠ΅ΡΠ²ΡΠΉ ΡΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΎΠ²ΡΠΉ Π²ΠΈΠ΄ ΡΠΎΠ΄Π° Stilbus Seidlitz, 1872 β S. bedovoyi Lyubarsky et Perkovsky ΠΎΠΏΠΈΡΠ°Π½ ΠΈΠ· ΠΏΠΎΠ·Π΄Π½Π΅ΡΠΎΡΠ΅Π½ΠΎΠ²ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΡΠΎΠ²Π΅Π½ΡΠΊΠΎΠ³ΠΎ ΡΠ½ΡΠ°ΡΡ. A Description of the Encyrtid Male (Hymenoptera, Chalcidoidea, Encyrtidae) with Archaic Structure of Metasoma from Rovno Amber
Eocencnemus vichrenkoi Simutnik,
sp. n. is described. The genus Eocencnemus Simutnik (type species E.
sugonjaevi Simutnik from Rovno
amber, described based on a female), is characterized by archaic structure
of metasoma with apical
position of paratergites, absence of special locking setae on distal margin
of bare oblique stripe (linea
calva), tridentate mandibles and long venation of the fore wing. The newly
found male has all from the
characters and preliminarily attributed to the genus. The new species
differs from E. sugonjaevi by shor-
ter postmarginal vein and absence of notauli. Taxonomic position of this
genus in the subfamily Tet-
racneminae remains uncertain. The type material is deposited in the
collection of the Schmalhausen
Institute of Zoology (Ukraine, Kyiv).ΠΠΏΠΈΡΠ°Π½ Eocencnemus vichrenkoi Simutnik, sp. n. Π Π°Π½Π΅Π΅ ΠΎΠΏΠΈΡΠ°Π½Π½ΡΠΉ ΠΏΠΎ ΡΠ°ΠΌΠΊΠ΅

Psocoptera (Insecta) in Eocene Rovno Amber (Ukraine)
A brief,
annotated checklist of the described barklouse (Paraneoptera, Psocodea, Psocoptera) fauna from Rovno
