    Study on banana prawn (Fenneropenaeus merguiensis) movement in the Hormozgan waters in the northern Persian Gulf

    This research was carried out in Strait of Hormuz in 2020. The present study aimed to investigate the migration and growth pattern of tagged shrimps in the study area. Bloodstock shrimps were reared in June (2010). About 50000 juvenile shrimps were tagged by red color florescent elastomeric tag and released in the estuaries of Tiab, Kolahi and Koolgan at night in July 2010. Local people were informed through posters describing the tagging program, as well as articles published in a local magazine. A tagging program film was broadcasted on local television three times prior to the shrimp fishing season and during shrimp catch period. In the catch season, September and November months, 11 tagged prawns (0.022%) were recaptured. Movement direction of tagged prawns was northwesterly of deeper waters of releasing areas. Speed was recorded at 0.33-0.33 km/day and tagged prawns were recaptured 46 km from the released locations. The mean (±SD) weight of released banana prawns and the average weight of the recaptured prawns were1.2±0.2 g and 22.06±4.9 g, respectively. The growth rate of recaptured prawns was 16-26 g and growth speed was 0.88-1.41 g per week. In the study area, the major sea current was from the Oman Sea to the Persian Gulf through Strait of Hormuz probably influencing the pattern of banana prawn movement in Hormozgan area

    Probiotic effects of Bacillus spp. bacteria on the survival and growth of white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in 30 and 40 g/lit salinities

    The probiotic effects of Bacillus spp. bacteria on the growth and survival rate of Litopenaeus vannamei in 30 and 40 g, salinities was investigated. We conducted the experiment in Bandargah Research Station, Bushehr province during 45 days. Four treatments with three replicates, and two controls were used and probiotic powder, dissolved in water along with the growth stage pellet was applied in 3O ppt and 4O ppt salinities. The control treatments were only fed by the growth stage pellet in 3O ppt and 4O ppt salinities. The results revealed that growth and survival rate of treatment groups in 3O ppt salinity exposed to the probiotic powder were higher than those of the controls without increasing probiotic powder (P0.05). Survival rate of the treatment groups in 4O ppt salinity was significantly higher than those of the control (P<0.05). Also, the results indicated that growth and survival factors of the treatment groups in 3O ppt salinity in comparison with those of the control in 4O ppt salinity were significantly higher. We conclude that addition of Bacillus spp. bacteria to 3O ppt salinity together with application of growth stage pellets to white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannaiiiei, could be very useful in comparison with 4O ppt salinity.     Investigstion on effect prepared vaccine by x-ray on production rate and resistance to white spot disease in shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

    White Spot Disease (WSD) is a important disease due to economic impacts in shrimp industries. Spreading of this disease in shrimp farms can caused a 100% mortality during 3-10 days. Therefore control of this disease is a strategy in shrimp industry. Vaccination is a way to control of WSD. In several years ago during a project several type vaccine of this virus by association of Atomic Energy Organization is produced that among of them the virus inactivated by GAMA radiation had better results in laboratory. To test of this vaccine in field, a research pilot was carried out. Initially 20000 shrimp napliies were obtained from one of commercial hatchery in Bushehr province, then devided to two groups vaccinated and unvaccinated. The vaccinated group also devided . 26and PL12 , group B vaccinated at PL15and PL 5to two groups, group A that vaccinated at postlarva e (PL) Rrsults showed that difference of growth performance and survival rate between vaccinated and unvaccinated without challenge with WSV after 80 days is not significantly (P<0.05). but survival rate in vaccinated groups after challenge with WSV was significantly (P<0.05) further the unvaccinated group. Also the results showed survival rate of group B after challenge with WSV is better than group A and this difference was significantly (P<0.05). this study showed vaccination of shrimp postlarvae with GAMA radiation vaccine can control of shrimp mortality in incidence of WSD in farms

    Development gene data bank of cultured shrimp species in Iran

    DNA barcode is a short, standard well known sequence of cytochrome oxidase І gene. By using this DNA sequence can be realized that each animal, plant or fungus belongs to which species. in this research, samples were collected from imported cultured shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei and and 6 Persian Gulf and Oman Sea shrimp species which classified based on traditional systematically as: Penaeus semisulcatus, Fenneropenaeus merguiensis, Metapenaeus affinis, Parapenaeopsis Stylifera and Fenneropenaeus indicus. After examination of DNA barcode sequence, molecular and bioinformatics operations of each sequence in the Consortium for the Barcode of Life (CBOL) and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), phylogenetic analysis of each sample was determined and similarity of each sample with NCBI and CBOL database was checked and the closest species to each sample were specified. According to the results different samples of L. vannamei, . banded P.semisulcatus, F. merguiensis and F. indicus have more than 97% similarity to the same species of other countries. non banded P.semisulcatus had 80.07% similarity to banded P.semisulcatus, M. affinis samples had 90.3% similarity to Metapenaeus ensis and Parap. Stylifera had 93.44% similarity to Parapenaeopsis coromandelica in the CBOL. This funding confirmed the need for further investigation and possible announcement of new species

    Shrimp production increasing rapidly in the world and in2013 the production reaches 4.2 MT. In Iran the shrimp production is under development and estimated in 1393, 20 thousand tons produced. In this regards the important subject is health and disease in shrimp farm. The white spot syndrome virus for second time appears in chabahar and damage many farms. Because the aquaculture activity expand in the world in national, regional and international scale, many emerge disease are endanger. In this regard the viral disease is very important and not only decrease the production but also has a side effect in business and national economy. For control and prevention the viral disease, the accurate methods such as PCR kit were developed. In this project the PCR methods with sensitivity, specificity and efficacy was designed and used for detection viral disease. Many viruses have several serotypes and in different area maybe new serotype induce the disease. For this reason, the specific kit will be design. Three viruses consist of MBV, TSV and IHHNV are very pathogenic in shrimp farm and need the specific PCR kit for detection them. In this project the MBV virus was identified and designs a new primer with Oligo software and the primer amplified a part of DNA with 185 bp in the gel. The specificity and sensitivity of primer were checked by IQ2000 Kit and the primer used for detection unknown samples
