Black hole solutions in Horava-Lifshitz Gravity with cubic terms
We study four dimensional non-projectable Horava-Lifshitz type gravity, in
the case of an action with terms, cubic in curvature. For special choices of
the free parameters of the model, we obtain two new analytic black hole
solutions which exhibit the standard Schwarzschild asymptotic behavior in the
large distance limit. The effect of cubic terms in the short range behavior of

Black Hole Solutions in 5D Horava-Lifshitz Gravity
We study the full spectrum of spherically symmetric solutions in the five
dimensional non-projectable Horava-Lifshitz type gravity theories. For
appropriate ranges of the coupling parameters, we have found several classes of
solutions which are characterized by an AdS_5, dS_5 or flat large distance
asymptotic behaviour, plus the standard 1/r^2 tail of the usual
five-dimensional Schwarzschild black holes. In addition we have found solutions
with an unconventional short or large distance behaviour, and for a special
range of the coupling parameters solutions which coincide with black hole
solutions of conventional relativistic five-dimensional Gauss-Bonnet gravity.Comment: 31 pages, 6 figures, references adde
Gap Domain Wall Fermions
I demonstrate that the chiral properties of Domain Wall Fermions (DWF) in the
large to intermediate lattice spacing regime of QCD, 1 to 2 GeV, are
significantly improved by adding to the action two standard Wilson fermions
with supercritical mass equal to the negative DWF five dimensional mass. Using
quenched DWF simulations I show that the eigenvalue spectrum of the transfer
matrix Hamiltonian develops a substantial gap and that the residual mass
decreases appreciatively. Furthermore, I confirm that topology changing remains
active and that the hadron spectrum of the added Wilson fermions is above the
lattice cutoff and therefore is irrelevant. I argue that this result should
also hold for dynamical DWF and furthermore that it should improve the chiral

RELINE: Point-of-Interest Recommendations using Multiple Network Embeddings
The rapid growth of users' involvement in Location-Based Social Networks
(LBSNs) has led to the expeditious growth of the data on a global scale. The
need of accessing and retrieving relevant information close to users'
preferences is an open problem which continuously raises new challenges for
recommendation systems. The exploitation of Points-of-Interest (POIs)
recommendation by existing models is inadequate due to the sparsity and the
cold start problems. To overcome these problems many models were proposed in
the literature, but most of them ignore important factors such as: geographical
proximity, social influence, or temporal and preference dynamics, which tackle
their accuracy while personalize their recommendations. In this work, we
investigate these problems and present a unified model that jointly learns
users and POI dynamics. Our proposal is termed RELINE (REcommendations with
muLtIple Network Embeddings). More specifically, RELINE captures: i) the
social, ii) the geographical, iii) the temporal influence, and iv) the users'
preference dynamics, by embedding eight relational graphs into one shared
latent space. We have evaluated our approach against state-of-the-art methods
with three large real-world datasets in terms of accuracy. Additionally, we
have examined the effectiveness of our approach against the cold-start problem.
Performance evaluation results demonstrate that significant performance
improvement is achieved in comparison to existing state-of-the-art methods
Identifying dyspepsia in the Greek population: translation and validation of a questionnaire
BACKGROUND: Studies on clinical issues, including diagnostic strategies, are considered to be the core content of general practice research. The use of standardised instruments is regarded as an important component for the development of Primary Health Care research capacity. Demand for epidemiological cross-cultural comparisons in the international setting and the use of common instruments and definitions valid to each culture is bigger than ever. Dyspepsia is a common complaint in primary practice but little is known with respect to its incidence in Greece. There are some references about the Helicobacter Pylori infection in patients with functional dyspepsia or gastric ulcer in Greece but there is no specific instrument for the identification of dyspepsia. This paper reports on the validation and translation into Greek, of an English questionnaire for the identification of dyspepsia in the general population and discusses several possibilities of its use in the Greek primary care. METHODS: The selected English postal questionnaire for the identification of people with dyspepsia in the general population consists of 30 items and was developed in 1995. The translation and cultural adaptation of the questionnaire has been performed according to international standards. For the validation of the instrument the internal consistency of the items was established using the alpha coefficient of Chronbach, the reproducibility (test – retest reliability) was measured by kappa correlation coefficient and the criterion validity was calculated against the diagnosis of the patients' records using also kappa correlation coefficient. RESULTS: The final Greek version of the postal questionnaire for the identification of dyspepsia in the general population was reliably translated. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was good, Chronbach's alpha was found to be 0.88 (95% CI: 0.81–0.93), suggesting that all items were appropriate to measure. Kappa coefficient for reproducibility (test – retest reliability) was found 0.66 (95% CI: 0.62–0.71), whereas the kappa analysis for criterion validity was 0.63 (95% CI: 0.36–0.89). CONCLUSION: This study indicates that the Greek translation is comparable with the English-language version in terms of validity and reliability, and is suitable for epidemiological research within the Greek primary health care setting

Fermionic Vacuum Energy from a Nielsen-Olesen Vortex
We calculate the vacuum energy of a spinor field in the background of a
Nielsen-Olesen vortex. We use the method of representing the vacuum energy in
terms of the Jost function on the imaginary momentum axis. Renormalization is
carried out using the heat kernel expansion and zeta functional regularization.
With this method well convergent sums and integrals emerge which allow for an
efficient numerical calculation of the vacuum energy in the given case where
the background is not known analytically but only numerically. The vacuum
energy is calculated for several choices of the parameters and it turns out to
