Once-in-a-lifetime leisure experiences (OLLE): the role of flow, novelty, and interpersonal interaction on tourists’ satisfaction and memories

Drawing on Flow theory and memorable tourism experience, this study explores the relationships between Flow, novelty, and interpersonal interaction and the impact on travelers' satisfaction and memories. By applying a mixed-method approach and the critical incident technique to a once-in-a-lifetime leisure experience, 550 tourists recalled their experiences. The results reveal that Flow has a direct and positive influence on tourists' satisfaction and memories of the experience. The findings highlight the role of novelty and interpersonal interaction in producing positive Flow. However, novelty and interpersonal interaction did not come out as significant to predict memories and satisfaction.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Determinants of intentions to use a pilgrimage app: a cross-cultural comparison

The main aim of this study is to examine which features pilgrims from six nationalities walking the Camino de Santiago most value in a pilgrimage app and to determine which ones most influence intentions to use it. Data were collected through an online questionnaire. The 911 responses were analysed using ANOVA and PLS-SEM. The features related to general information are the strongest predictor of intentions to use a pilgrimage app and there is only one significant difference among nationalities regarding the determinants of intentions to use it. Influence of different restorative materials on the stress distribution in dental implants

To assist clinicians in deciding the most suitable restorative materials to be used in the crowns and abutment in implant rehabilitation. For finite element analysis (FEA), a regular morse taper implant was created using a computer aided design software. The implant was inserted at the bone model with 3 mm of exposed threads. An anatomic prosthesis representing a first maxillary molar was modeled and cemented on the solid abutment. Considering the crown material (zirconia, chromium-cobalt, lithium disilicate and hybrid ceramic) and abutment (Titanium and zirconia), the geometries were multiplied, totaling eight groups. In order to perform the static analysis, the contacts were considered bonded and each material was assigned as isotropic. An axial load (200 N) was applied on the crown and fixation occurred on the base of the bone. Results using Von-Mises criteria and micro strain values were obtained. A sample identical to the CAD model was made for the Strain Gauge (SG) analysis; four SGs were bonded around the implant to obtain micro strain results in bone tissue. FEA results were 3.83% lower than SG. According to the crown material, it is possible to note that the increase of elastic modulus reduces the stress concentration in all system without difference for bone. Crown materials with high elastic modulus are able to decrease the stress values in the abutments while concentrates the stress in its structure. Zirconia abutments tend to concentrate more stress throughout the prosthetic system and may be more susceptible to mechanical problems than titanium

Papel da Excisão Total do Mesorreto no Tratamento Multimodal do Câncer de Reto

O tratamento do câncer de reto vem apresentando inúmeros avanços nas últimas décadas. Os altos índices de recidiva local estavam associados a uma sobrevida inadequada. Após a aquisição de uma série de recursos técnicos que aumentaram a preservação esfincteriana, uma modificação técnica proposta por Heald, em 1982, denominada de excisão total do mesorreto (ETM) proporcionou uma redução da recorrência local de 20% a 40% para menos de 10%. Nesta revisão, foram avaliados os princípios, resultados e complicações da ETM num cenário em que a quimioirradiação neo-adjuvante para tumores nos estádios II e III também tem papel fundamental no controle local e na sobrevida destes pacientes

Incidência de lesões nos atletas da Associação Portuguesa de Desportos no campeonato paulista A2 2018 / Incidence of injuries in the athletes of Associação Portuguesa de Desportos in the São Paulo A2 championship 2018

O futebol é um dos esportes que mais possuem incidências de lesões. A pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar a incidência de lesões em atletas no clube “Associação Portuguesa de Desportos” da série A2 durante o campeonato paulista, dentre os objetivos específicos foram de avaliar os principais índices e diagnósticos de lesões ocorridas, analisar incidência de lesão por posição dentro de campo e avaliar tempo de afastamento gerado por tais. Foi realizada uma análise de prontuários do setor de fisioterapia do clube durante o campeonato paulista A2. Os principais resultados foram 93.5% de lesões em membros inferiores, sendo 87% lesões musculares da coxa, joelho 12.9%, tornozelo e posteriores de perna 9.6%, dessas lesões 32% foram de lesões recorrentes e 68% nova lesão. Conclui-se que a incidência de lesão foi alta levando em consideração somente um campeonato de uma equipe.

Dirigentes do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria

No âmbito da implementação do Plano de Igualdade de Género, Não Discriminação e Inclusão do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, procurou-se conhecer literacia dos dirigentes institucionais sobre a temática da igualdade de género, não discriminação e inclusão, em que o questionário se encontrava dividido por seis dimensões. Após o convite à participação dos dirigentes institucionais, num total de 33 dirigentes, participaram 13 dirigentes de forma voluntária, livre e esclarecida. Verificou-se uma baixa taxa de adesão dos dirigentes à resposta a este questionário, possivelmente por falta de sensibilização face à problemática. Observa-se ainda, pelas respostas obtidas, que são necessárias medidas e intervenções que potenciem a conscientização e os conhecimentos dos dirigentes do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria face às temáticas da Igualdade de Género, Não Discriminação e Inclusão.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Lidar Observations in South America. Part I - Mesosphere and Stratosphere

South America covers a large area of the globe and plays a fundamental function in its climate change, geographical features, and natural resources. However, it still is a developing area, and natural resource management and energy production are far from a sustainable framework, impacting the air quality of the area and needs much improvement in monitoring. There are significant activities regarding laser remote sensing of the atmosphere at different levels for different purposes. Among these activities, we can mention the mesospheric probing of sodium measurements and stratospheric monitoring of ozone, and the study of wind and gravity waves. Some of these activities are long-lasting and count on the support from the Latin American Lidar Network (LALINET). We intend to pinpoint the most significant scientific achievements and show the potential of carrying out remote sensing activities in the continent and show its correlations with other earth science connections and synergies. In Part I of this chapter, we will present an overview and significant results of lidar observations in the mesosphere and stratosphere. Part II will be dedicated to tropospheric observations

Lidar Observations in South America. Part II - Troposphere

In Part II of this chapter, we intend to show the significant advances and results concerning aerosols’ tropospheric monitoring in South America. The tropospheric lidar monitoring is also supported by the Latin American Lidar Network (LALINET). It is concerned about aerosols originating from urban pollution, biomass burning, desert dust, sea spray, and other primary sources. Cloud studies and their impact on radiative transfer using tropospheric lidar measurements are also presented
