    The paper presents the method of creating parameterized geometric three-dimensional models of permanent magnet excited disc-type electrical machines in Flux3D application. Essential links described functional compounds between the model and its features used for modeling the machine with two outer disk rotors and one inner coreless stator is presented. In addition, shows examples of machine-generated models of the various quantities of poles and geometric dimensions. Some simulation models have been compared with physical models

    Configurations of permanent magnet motors with counter-rotating rotors for ship propulsion drives

    This paper describes configurations of permanent magnet motors with counter-rotating rotors. This machine topology can find applications in marine propulsion systems that use additional counter-rotating propeller in order to recover energy from the rotational flow of main propeller stream. In this case the use of a PM motor having counter-rotating rotors allows the elimination of the motion reversal epicyclical gear. For these kinds of motors, the ship propulsion drives is a very interesting application, especially for contra-rotating propeller. PM rotors do not have magnetisation losses, which simplifies the rotor construction and cooling. This can be very useful in slow speed and podded drives where a motor is installed in the propeller pod, and where space savings can bring significant benefits. Innovative applications of maritime object's drives constructions with slotless disc and two type cylindrical counter-rotating electrical machines based on permanent magnets were proposed. In this study, differen permanent magnet motor configurations were analyzed. Numerical calculations of motor characteristics were performed with a three-dimensional finite element, timestepping simulation program (Flux3D).     The paper presents an effect of rotor design on armature winding back-EMF of ECPMSM hybrid machine. On the basis of 3D-FEM analysis effects of different solid-rotor materials on the magnetic field distribution and a field-weakening characteristics of the machine are shown.     The paper presents some aspects of modeling, simulation and optimization of the electrical machines excited by permanent magnets. For example the coreless disc-type machine a FEM model was created in Flux 3D, which was then coupled with the GOT-IT program, CEDRAT New Optimization Tool. The results of the mono-objective optimization using the adaptive algorithm were achieved. Analyzed the influence of geometrical parameters on the electromagnetic moment of the machine. The FEM optimized model of the disc-type PM machine by optimum geometrical parameters was presented

    W artykule przedstawiono projekt maszyny tarczowej z magnesami trwałymi mocowanymi powierzchniowo, która posiada możliwość regulacji strumienia wzbudzenia. W pracy pokazano model polowy maszyny FCAFPM opracowany w celu otrzymania przewidywanych przebiegów SEM w uzwojeniach twornika oraz regulacji pola wzbudzenia maszyny. Ponadto, szczegółowo pokazano wał niemagnetyczny z żelazną tuleją, jarzmem i biegunami wirnika oraz przekrój koncepcji całej maszyny.The article presents design of a disc-type surface mounted permanent magnet machine with flux control capability. The paper shows 3D-FEM model of FCAFPM machine developed to obtain predicted armature winding back-emf waveforms and field weakening/strengthening performance of the machine.     Comparison of magnetic circuits of electrical machines with permanent magnets

    This paper presents results of simulation researches conducted on magnetic circuits of selected electrical machines excited by permanent magnets. The advantages of this type of machines are: high efficiency, relatively simple construction, smaller material consumption when compared to other machines, as well as lower production and exploitation costs. The examined magnetic circuits have the same stator, although they differ in the construction of the rotor, on which the permanent magnets are located. An identical number of magnetic poles and volume of electromotive force sources have been assumed for all of the models. The data, obtained through research carried out with the assumed average value of electromagnetic torque, magnetic flux density and theirs pulses, have been discussed. The conducted analysis indicated optimal design solutions for smaller oscillations and the maximum value of average electromagnetic torque

    Magnetic Wedges Influence on Working Electrical Machine Parameters with Magnets and Flux Excitation Adjustment

    The aim of paper is to present selected results of simulation investigations concerning influence of the relative magnetic permeability of magnetic wedges in range 1÷16 closing slots of the stator machine with permanent magnets and excitation control coil, using the 3D-calculation code via Flux-3D. For selected values of the relative magnetic permeability of magnetic wedges the cogging torque, the electromagnetic torque, ripple, electromotive force and FFT analysis, at three level supply of additional excitation control coil, were presented. These investigations uncovered positive influence of using the magnetic wedges to the jogging torque and ripple reduction efficiently with improved working operation of the ECPSM machine without decreasing its torque value.Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie wybranych wyników badań symulacyjnych, otrzymanych przy użyciu programu Flux 3D, wpływu klinów magnetycznych o względnych przenikalnościach magnetycznych w zakresie 1÷16, zamykających żłobki stojana maszyny z magnesami trwałymi i regulacją strumienia wzbudzenia. Dla wybranych przenikalności magnetycznych klinów wyznaczono moment zaczepowy, moment elektromagnetyczny, pulsacje momentu, siłę elektromotoryczną rotacji indukowaną w uzwojeniach stojana oraz analizę harmoniczną SEM dla trzech stanów zasilania dodatkowej cewki regulującej wzbudzenie magnetyczne maszyny. Badania wykazały pozytywny wpływ zastosowania klinów magnetycznych, które powodują skuteczną redukcję momentu zaczepowego oraz pulsacji momentu użytecznego poprawiając tym samym własności ruchowe maszyny ECPSM przy zachowaniu jej momentu obrotowego
