Le déroulement réussi d’une carrière suppose l’apprentissage de techniques corporelles efficaces que seule une gestion rigoureuse du corps, un entretien minutieux de chacune de ses parties, une rigueur de tous les instants dans et en dehors du gymnase autorise. That being the case, the adoption of a relationship to the body oriented and adjusted to performance is the product of the inculcation of a gymnastic habitus promoted by the living conditions organised from the earliest stages of schooling by centres specialising in the training of sporting elites

Temporal Controls of the Asymmetric Cell Division Cycle in Caulobacter crescentus

The asymmetric cell division cycle of Caulobacter crescentus is orchestrated by an elaborate gene-protein regulatory network, centered on three major control proteins, DnaA, GcrA and CtrA. The regulatory network is cast into a quantitative computational model to investigate in a systematic fashion how these three proteins control the relevant genetic, biochemical and physiological properties of proliferating bacteria. Different controls for both swarmer and stalked cell cycles are represented in the mathematical scheme. The model is validated against observed phenotypes of wild-type cells and relevant mutants, and it predicts the phenotypes of novel mutants and of known mutants under novel experimental conditions. Because the cell cycle control proteins of Caulobacter are conserved across many species of alpha-proteobacteria, the model we are proposing here may be applicable to other genera of importance to agriculture and medicine (e.g., Rhizobium, Brucella)

Des rapports ministériels, des articles et reportages grand public, ainsi que des travaux scientifiques récents insistent sur les difficultés rencontrées par les sportifs de haut niveau pour mener à bien une formation scolaire. Une enquête quantitative et qualitative réalisée auprès de sportifs d’élite engagés dans des études supérieures au sein de l’Académie de Nantes invite pourtant au réexamen de cette prétendue concurrence entre projets sportifs et scolaires. Ce que montrent les destins scolaires des élites sportives dans l’enseignement supérieur, ce sont des sports socialement typés, des trajectoires marquées selon les mondes sportifs et autant de chemins empruntés pour faire face à l’impératif sportif. Des effets visibles à l’entrée lorsque les spécialistes des différentes disciplines s’orientent massivement dans les mêmes voies de l’enseignement supérieur au gré des appariements établis localement entre les agents des institutions sportives et des établissements de formation supérieure. Visibles également lorsque la projection d’une carrière professionnelle dans les sports collectifs masculins compromet les poursuites d’études ou, à l’inverse, lorsque les stratégies ajustées aux doubles contraintes sportives et scolaires autorisent le maintien des ambitions scolaires, voire ouvrent des voies inespérées.Ministerial reports, media articles, and recent scientific works insist on the difficulties met by high-level sportsmen to succesfully complete a school education. A quantitative and qualitative research realized with elite sportsmen engaged in higher education at the Academy of Nantes invites nevertheless in the reconsideration of this alleged competition between sports and school projects. The analysis of the higher education outcomes of sports elites reveals socially typified sports, trajectories marked by the worlds of the sports, and different ways of meeting the demands of the sports. Visible effects in the entry when the specialists of the different disciplines massively turn to the same educational according to the matchings established locally between the agents of the sports institutions and institutions of higher education. Visible also when a career projection in men’s team sports compromises the pursuit of studies, or, on the contrary, when the strategies adjusted to the constraints of both sports and educational projects allow for the preservation of academic ambitions, or even open unexpected paths
