Since the issuing of Directive 2002/91/EC (EU 2002), and now with the Directive 2010/31/UE (EU 2010), on energy performance of buildings, a strong impetus has been addressed to the study of actual energy consumptions in existing buildings. As a consequence, the interest about energy consumption assessment of building stocks through the actual consumption monitoring is continuously increasing. In this scenario, the present study mainly aims at assessing energy performance indicators and reference values by means of the analyses of monitored data; moreover, it aims at testing and verifying predictive models for a reasonably accurate assessment of building stock consumptions. Results are also useful to plan actions for energy performance improvements of the buildings. In particular, in this paper, the energy consumptions for heating of school buildings located in Torino Province (North Italy) have been analysed and a simplified method for the forecast of energy consumption has been applied and verified
