Politics of waste: on magnetizado and the Diarios del odio

En el recorrido que va desde Magnetizado de Carlos Busqued a los Diarios del odio —creados por el grupo ORGIE, con dirección de Silvio Lang—, este ensayo aborda una transformación fluida: la de la escritura acercándose a lo visual para volcarse juntas hacia las artes performáticas. Ya sea que se intente expandir el soporte del libro incorporando imágenes y diseños tipográficos o transformando un poemario en instalación y luego en indagación escénica, estos artefactos comparten dos cuestiones centrales para la estética contemporánea. En primer lugar, el hecho de que ya no piensan en la «realidad» como efecto de la representación sino en lo real como «material en bruto» para ofrecerse a la exhibición «activa» y, en segundo lugar, el énfasis puesto no tanto en la producción de un objeto sino de una experiencia (de escritura, de puesta en escena, de participación del público y en lo público). Ambas cuestiones constituyen el gran legado de las vanguardias de fin del siglo pasado y, en el presente, se articulan con un particular interés por lo residual. En estos casos, se trata de residuos lingüísticos que vienen de la lengua de los márgenes o del murmullo de relatos colectivos y que encuentran su soporte en los cuerpos y en una reflexión sobre lo viviente. La potencia de esa residualidad verbal también nos habla de lo real como resto, repetición e insistencia traumática y del afán de ciertas estéticas contemporáneas de hurgar allí, en busca de una particular politicidad.In a journey that goes from Magnetizado by Carlos Busqued to Diarios del odio –created by the ORGIE group, under the direction of Silvio Lang–, –, this essay addresses a fluid transformation: that of writing approaching the visual to turn together towards the Performative Arts. Whether trying to expand the book as support by incorporating images and typographic designs or transforming a collection of poems into an installation and then an experimental play, these artifacts share two central issues for contemporary aesthetics. Firstly, the fact that they no longer think of «reality» as an effect of representation but of the real as «raw material» to be offered for «active» exhibition, and, secondly, the emphasis placed not so much on the production of an object but of an experience (of writing, of staging, of audiences’ participation and of the public space). Both issues constitute the great legacy of the avant-gardes at the end of the last century and, at present, are articulated with a particular interest in the notion of residuality. In these cases, they are linguistic residues that come from the language of the margins or the murmur of collective stories and that find their support in the bodies and in a reflection on the living. The power of this verbal residuality also tells us something about the real as residue, as repetition and traumatic insistence and the eagerness of certain contemporary aesthetics to dive there, in search of its politicity.Fil: Cortes Rocca, Paola. #OperaciónAraña: Performance and Feminist Avant-garde

#OperaciónAraña was a performative action conceived by the Ni Una Menos collective in Argentina and co-organized with the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe and Free Abortion and women from the Subway Workers Trade Union, together with more than seventy feminist groups. The action consisted of a performative occupation of the entire subway network in the city of Buenos Aires on July 31, 2018. Its aim was to visibilize the claim for legal abortion in the immediate context of legislative debates on the legalization of abortion voted (and rejected) in the Senate House on August 8th, 2018. Through a material analysis of the action, this paper will focus on the concepts of artistic and media activism, performance, and feminist avantgarde. The claim for legal, safe, and free abortion in this context is a concept that articulates a macropolitical and legal dimension and a micropolitical dimension that aims to a transformation of the meaning of life for pregnant bodies and affects social reproduction.#OperaciónAraña fue una acción performativa concebida por el colectivo argentino Ni Una Menos y co-organizado con la Campaña Nacional por el Derecho al Aborto Legal, Seguro y Gratuito, con Metrodelegadas, las trabajadoras de la Asociación Gremial de Trabajadores del Subte y Premetro, junto a más de setenta grupos feministas. La acción consistió en la ocupación performativa de la red subterránea entera de la ciudad de Buenos Aires el 31 de julio del 2018. La acción buscó visibilizar la demanda por el aborto legal en el contexto de debates legislativos sobre la legalización del aborto que se sometió a votación (y fue rechazada) en el Senado el 8 de agosto 2018. Mediante un análisis material de la acción, este artículo enfoca los conceptos del activismo artístico y mediático, performance, y vanguardia feminista. La demanda por el aborto legal, seguro y gratuito en este contexto es un concepto que articula las dimensiones macropolíticas, legales, y micropolíticas, que busca transformar el significado de la vida para cuerpos embarazados, con ramificaciones para la reproducción social.Fil: Cortes Rocca, Paola.
