ON DETECTING NEW BETTER THAN USED PROPERTY OF LIFE DISTRIBUTIONS

A test Procedure is proposed for testing the null hypothesis that two life distribution are equal against the alternative that one is more new better than used than the other. The asymptotic normally of the proposed class of test statistics is established

In this paper the problem is investigated how to prove that after a speciļ¬ed timet0of operation the conditional survival probability of an item is less than the correspondingsurvival probability of a new item. This problem occurs in various areas like for instance inindustry, when designing a maintenance policy. For a randomly censored sample, test statisticsare derived for testing the null hypothesis that a new item has stochastically the same residuallife length as does a used item of speciļ¬ed age t0versus the alternative hypothesis that a newitem has stochastically a longer residual life length as does a used item of speciļ¬ed age t0.The tests are based on the asymptotic distribution of the test statistics and selected using thePitman asymptotic relative eļ¬ƒcacy. Since small samples are prevailing in reliability testing, further research is needed, which omits the asymptotic derivation On testing exponentiality against new better than used of specified age (PDF Download Available). Self-concept and vision impairment: A review

    No full text
Positive self-concept has been identified as the means of facilitating desirable outcomes for all individuals. However, a growing body of research substantiates that adolescents are inclined to the development of a negative self-concept and adolescence is described as a phase of turbulence at its peak. When this convoluted stage is combined with a disability, the child is in a state of complete impediment and likely to develop a very poor self-concept. In the light of this, this review selects a type of disability, ā€˜vision impairmentā€™ and extensively critiques the self-concept research studies in participants with vision impairment to date
