The study examines the labour market in Pakistan in terms of limited opportunities, particularly with reference to occupational concentration, including gender discrimination in the labour market faced by workers. Occupational segregation is an important gender dimension in the labour market; there is a need to formulate gender sensitive development policies, particularly in recent efforts towards poverty reduction strategies in Pakistan.
