Observation of the Dynamic Beta Effect at CESR with CLEO
Using the silicon strip detector of the CLEO experiment operating at the
Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring (CESR), we have observed that the
horizontal size of the luminous region decreases in the presence of the
beam-beam interaction from what is expected without the beam-beam interaction.
The dependence on the bunch current agrees with the prediction of the dynamic
beta effect. This is the first direct observation of the effect.Comment: 9 page uuencoded postscript file, postscritp file also available

Observation of New States Decaying into
Using 13.7 fb^{-1} of data recorded by the CLEO detector at CESR, we
investigate the spectrum of charmed baryons which decay into Lambda_c^+ pi^-
pi^+ and are more massive than the Lambda_{c1} baryons. We find evidence for
two new states: one is broad and has an invariant mass roughly 480 MeV above
that of the Lambda_c^+; the other is narrow with an invariant mass of 596 +- 1
+- 2 MeV above the Lambda_c^+ mass. These results are preliminary.Comment: 11 pages postscript, also available through

Semileptonic Branching Fraction of Charged and Neutral B Mesons
An examination of leptons in events tagged by reconstructed
decays yields semileptonic branching fractions of for charged and for neutral mesons.
This is the first measurement for charged . Assuming equality of the charged
and neutral semileptonic widths, the ratio is
equivalent to the ratio of lifetimes. A postscript version is available through

First Observation of the Baryon and a New Measurement of the Mass
Using data recorded with the CLEO II and CLEO II.V detector configurations at
the Cornell Electron Storage Rings, we report the first observation and mass
measurement of the charmed baryon, and an updated measurement
of the mass of the baryon. We find
= 231.0 +- 1.1 +- 2.0 MeV, and
= 166.4 +- 0.2 +- 0.3 MeV, where the errors are
statistical and systematic respectively.Comment: 8 pages postscript, also available through

Observation of the Isospin-Violating Decay
Using data collected with the CLEO~II detector, we have observed the
isospin-violating decay . The decay rate for this mode,
relative to the dominant radiative decay, is found to be .Comment: 8 page uuencoded postscript file, also available through

Investigation of Semileptonic Meson Decay to P-Wave Charm Mesons
We have studied semileptonic meson decays with a P-wave charm meson in
the final state using 3.29 x 10^6 B\bar{B} events collected by the CLEO~II
detector at the Cornell Electron-positron Storage Ring. We find a value for the
exclusive semileptonic product branching fraction: Br(B^- -> D_1^0 l^-
\bar{\nu}) x Br(D_1^0 -> D^{*+}\pi^-) = (0.373 \pm 0.085 \pm 0.052 \pm 0.024)%
and an upper limit for Br(B^- -> D_2^{*0} l^- \bar{\nu}) x Br(D_2^{*0} ->
D^{*+}\pi^-) < 0.16%$ (90% C.L.). These results indicate that at least 20% of
the total B^- semileptonic rate is unaccounted for by the observed exclusive
decays, B^- -> D^0 l^- \bar{\nu}, B^- -> D^{*0} l^- \bar{\nu}, B^- -> D_1^0 l^-
\bar{\nu}, and B^- -> D_2^{*0} l^- \bar{\nu}.Comment: 10 page postscript file, postscript file also available through

A Measurement of the Decay Asymmetry Parameters in \Xi_{c}^{0}\to \X^{-}\pi^{+}
Using the CLEO II detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring we have
measured the decay asymmetry parameter in the decay . We find , using the world average value of
we obtain . The physically allowed range of a decay
asymmetry parameter is . Our result prefers a negative value:
is at the 90% CL. The central value occupies the
middle of the theoretically expected range but is not yet precise enough to
choose between models.Comment: 10 pages postscript, also available through

Observation of Two Narrow States Decaying into and
We report the first observation of two narrow charmed strange baryons
decaying to and , respectively, using data from
the CLEO II detector at CESR. We interpret the observed signals as the

of the well-established antisymmetric and .
The mass differences and

First Observation of
We report on a study of exclusive radiative decays of the Upsilon(1S)
resonance collected with the CLEO-II detector operating at CESR. We present the
first observation of the radiative decays Upsilon(1S)->gamma pi+pi- and
Upsilon(1S)->gamma pi0pi0. For the dipion mass regime m(pipi)>1.0 GeV, we
obtain Br(Upsilon(1S)->gamma pi+pi-=(6.3+/-1.2+/-1.3) x 10^(-5), and
Br(Upsilon(1S)->gamma pi0pi0=(1.7+/-0.6+/-0.3) x 10^(-5). The observed gamma
pipi events are consistent with the hypothesis Upsilon(1S)->gamma f2(1270).Comment: 9 pages, postscript file also available through
