    Pregnancy is a hypercoagulable state. Women with mechanical valve replacement done falls under WHO 3 risk. Effective anticoagulation therapy is mandatory. Oral anticoagulants offer the best maternal protection against thrombosis, but associated with risk of fetal malformations and pregnancy loss.
