Extraction of Vertebrae and Ribs from CT-Images

    No full text
The algorithm to extract vertebrae and ribs from 2D CT images of human body is proposed. It provides reliable determining of rounded part of a vertebra, extraction of this bone together with ribs (if they touch the vertebra), and then detaching ribs from segmented image. The algorithm does not require any preliminary learning and can be applied to CT images of medical DICOM and usual graphic format

Reconstruction of 3D Medical Object Shapes from 2D Cross-Sections / T. M. Deserno, Nee Lehmann

    No full text
A new techniques is presented in order to reconstruct 3D object surface from several closed, in general, non-planar curves, including contours that were outlined manually. A 2D distance map is used to reconstruct object of a different shapes. The branching problem is also discusse
