Study to Assess the Prevalence of Soft Drinking and its Determinants among the School going Children of Gwalior city
Background: Over the time there has been spectrum of changes in the universe. It may be at physical, chemical and cultural level. People have adopted newer life styles like their working style, clothing’s, food habits and so on. One of the pertinent example of this newer food habits is rising consumption of soft drinks rather than traditional home made drinks. This study was aimed to find out various determinants responsible for this rising trend of soft drinking so that effective intervention can be undertaken to overcome this creeping problem. Objectives: To find out the prevalence of soft drinking consumption among the students and to assess the determinants of soft drink consumption among the students. Materials and methods: It was a cross sectional study. A sample of 200 students was selected from the both govt. and private schools by stratified random sampling. Then they all were interviewed by using pre tested, semi structured proforma. Later on data was analyzed manually and by using suitable statistical software. Results: Frequent drinking of soft drinks was found more among the students of private schools than govt. (p < 0.05). A significant association was found between pocket money, TV watching and frequency of soft drinking (p< 0.05).Other reasons which were found to be responsible by far for frequent soft drinking like lack of awareness regarding hazards, frequent TV watching, desire of new taste, lack of health education from the parents side etc. Conclusion: Soft drinking consumption is creeping day by day amongst the children with out knowing their hazards. And they are the future of any country so there should be effective intervention from both sides govt. as well as parents to get rid of it at earliest
Spectroscopic Observations and Modelling of Impulsive Alfv\'en Waves Along a Polar Coronal Jet
Using the Hinode/EIS 2 spectroscopic observations, we study the intensity,
velocity, and FWHM variations of the strongest Fe XII 195.12 \AA\ line along
the jet to find the signature of Alfv\'en waves. We simulate numerically the
impulsively generated Alfv\'en waves within the vertical Harris current-sheet,
forming the jet plasma flows, and mimicking their observational signatures.
Using the FLASH code and the atmospheric model with embedded weakly expanding
magnetic field configuration within a vertical Harris current-sheet, we solve
the two and half-dimensional (2.5-D) ideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations
to study the evolution of Alfv\'en waves and vertical flows forming the plasma
jet. At a height of from the base of the jet, the
red-shifted velocity component of Fe XII 195.12 \AA\ line attains its maximum
() which converts into a blue-shifted one between the
altitude of . The spectral intensity continously increases up
to , while FWHM still exhibits the low values with almost
constant trend. This indicates that the reconnection point within the jet's
magnetic field topology lies in the corona from its
footpoint anchored in the Sun's surface. Beyond this height, FWHM shows a
growing trend. This may be the signature of Alfv\'en waves that impulsively
evolve due to reconnection and propagate along the jet. From our numerical
data, we evaluate space- and time- averaged Alfv\'en waves velocity amplitudes
at different heights in the jet's current-sheet, which contribute to the
non-thermal motions and spectral line broadening. The synthetic width of Fe XII
line exhibits similar trend of increment as in the
observational data, possibly proving the existence of impulsively generated (by
reconnection) Alfv\'en waves which propagate along the jet
Viscosity of High Energy Nuclear Fluids
Relativistic high energy heavy ion collision cross sections have been
interpreted in terms of almost ideal liquid droplets of nuclear matter. The
experimental low viscosity of these nuclear fluids have been of considerable
recent quantum chromodynamic interest. The viscosity is here discussed in terms
of the string fragmentation models wherein the temperature dependence of the

On Thermal-Pulse-Driven Plasma Flows in Coronal Funnels as Observed by Hinode/EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS)
Using one-arcsecond-slit scan observations from the Hinode/EUV Imaging
Spectrometer (EIS) on 05 February 2007, we find the plasma outflows in the open
and expanding coronal funnels at the eastern boundary of AR 10940. The Doppler
velocity map of Fe XII 195.120 A shows that the diffuse close-loop system to be
mostly red-shifted. The open arches (funnels) at the eastern boundary of AR
exhibit blue-shifts with a maximum speed of about 10-15 km/s. This implies
outflowing plasma through these magnetic structures. In support of these
observations, we perform a 2D numerical simulation of the expanding coronal
funnels by solving the set of ideal MHD equations in appropriate VAL-III C
initial temperature conditions using the FLASH code. We implement a rarefied
and hotter region at the footpoint of the model funnel, which results in the
evolution of slow plasma perturbations propagating outward in the form of
plasma flows. We conclude that the heating, which may result from magnetic
reconnection, can trigger the observed plasma outflows in such coronal funnels.
This can transport mass into the higher corona, giving rise to the formation of

Specialty Preference Among Medical Students and Factors Affecting It
Introduction: Medical education is one of the core part of educational system of any country. Medical education requires undergraduate students to study a wide range of medical specialties. It is often assumed that students do not make their career preferences until after they have graduated from medical school. So the reasons and factors responsible for preferences need to be found out among medical students. Material and Methods: It was a Cross sectional study on 180 medical students to assess preference for specialty and factors responsible. Results: Out of total 190 medical students more or less everyone (97.89%) wanted to pursue specialization and majority of them (96.84%) wanted to pursue the same in Medical Field(p>0.05). majority of male students were interested to pursue their specialization in the field of medicine (37.63%), surgery (23.65%) and pediatrics (13.97%). On the other hand female students were more interested in medicine (24.17%), pediatrics (32.96%) and obstetrics & gynecology (24.17%)(p<0.05). Interest, by far was found to be most common factor (76.63%) responsible for the preference of particular medical specialty among all four groups of students (1st professional-25.27%, 2nd professional-75.92%, final professional-89.47%, interns-68.42%).Conclusion: It is thus concluded there are many factors playing role in the specialty selection and preference among the medical students and should be equally justified and addressed
