The influences and consequences of being digitally connected and/or disconnected to travellers

© 2017, The Author(s).Technological progress and tourism have worked in tandem for many years. Connectivity is the vehicle that drove the goal of technologically enhanced tourism experiences forward. This study, through an exploratory qualitative research identifies the factors that boost and/or distract travellers from obtaining a digitally enhanced tourism experience. Four factors can boost and/or distract travellers from being connected: (1) hardware and software, (2) needs and contexts, (3) openness to usage, and (4) supply and provision of connectivity. The research also analyses the positive and/or negative consequences that arise from being connected or disconnected. A Connected/Disconnected Consequences Model illustrates five forms of positive and/or negative consequences: (1) availability, (2) communication, (3) information obtainability, (4) time consumption, and (5) supporting experiences. A better understanding of the role and consequence of connectivity during the trip can enhance traveller experience

Costituito da circa 200 parole (oggetti e azioni) ad alta occorrenza nel vocabolario infantile, è attentamente strutturato per garantire varietà di stimoli relativamente a contenuto fonetico, prosodia e accentazione delle parole. Il materiale è corredato da un manuale di 20 pagine nelle quali vengono specificate le linee guida per l'allenamento delle abilità percettive e gli esempi utili per variare le attività di un ambulatorio logopedico

An enzymatic approach to bifunctional chelating agents

Bifunctional chelating agents (BFCAs) combine the complexing properties of a multidentate ligand with the presence of a free reactive functional group, mainly devoted to conjugation purposes. Indeed, products obtained by conjugation of a BFCA to a biomolecule and coordination of a suitable metal ion are widely applied in medicine nowadays as diagnostic and therapeutic agents. BFCAs are generally prepared through multi-step syntheses and with extensive application of protection\u2013deprotection strategies, due to the large number of functional groups involved. Hydrolytic enzymes, with their unique chemoselectivity, provided the best results in the preparation of three different BFCAs based on very useful and well known ligand platforms

N-Arylbenzamides: extremely simple scaffolds for the development of novel estrogen receptor agonists

The research of estrogen receptor (ER) ligands has benefited in the last decade from the implementation of combinatorial chemistry. The general pharmacophore has been identified and subsequently a multitude of compounds have been synthesized. Surprisingly, up to now simple amides have not been taken into consideration. Here we show that amides resulting from the condensation of hydroxybenzoic acids with aminophenols result in compounds retaining the pharmacophore structure of an ER ligand with a clear estrogenic activity
