Functional dyspepsia is defined as persistant or recurrent pain or discomfort centered

abnormally. The primary symptom of dyspepsia are upper abdominal pain, abdominal
bloating, early satiety and these symptoms are most often provoked by eating.
The incidence of dyspepsia in children above one year is 85% in pediatric population.

around 1500 patients is visiting every day for treatment for various ailments. Among them,
3 - 5% of patients is in pediatric group and is mostly affected by common digestive problem.
As no objective structural or pathophysiological measure exist to assess outcome one has to
rely on the subjective reporting of symptoms by the patients and their impact on normal daily
activities to decide whether a treatment intervention is of benefit or not.
In Balavagadam, there is a Sastric Siddha formulation seenthil kudineer for
KattuMantham(dyspepsia) which is also mentioned in Gunapadam mooligai vaguppu. The
main ingredients of the seenthil kudineer are seenthil, sukku ,sivathai which are known for

There are many diseases that need surgical procedures till date, so in order to find a probable cure now a paradigm shift is really important. Tonsillitis is an infection of the tonsils associated with a sore throat, difficulty in swallowing, fever, etc. Still, surgical removal of tonsils is one of the most frequent procedures during childhood. In the Siddha system of medicine tonsillitis can be compared with Virana silatham. To evaluate the effect of Siddha medicine in the management of tonsillitis. Materials and Methods: The subject approached Out Patient Department of Siddha Clinical Research Unit(SCRU),under Central Council for Research in Siddha(CCRS), Safdarjung Hospital Campus, New Delhi with symptoms of sore throat, ear pain, difficulty in swallowing, sleep apnoea, which involved problems of breathing at night and foul smell from the mouth for past four months systemically. Discussion: The manifestation of symptoms and their severity depends on the extent of involvement of Uyir thathukkal (Vali,Azhal, Iyyam). Though the disease is Iyyam and Azhal predominant, there is derangement of Iyyam and Azhal Dosham in Virana silatham. Results: In this case, the subject showed a marked improvement as depicted in the photographs taken at different levels of treatment, also there was a significant improvement noted in both subjective and objective parameters. By adopting the Siddha treatment approach with an external treatment modality an attempt is made to bring about satisfactory results
Significance of Siddha Thirithoda Balancing Food Stuffs
The Siddha system of medicine is an ancient medical system, which provides ‘Holistic Health’. The word ‘Siddha’ originated from the word ‘Siddhi’ meaning achievement of perfection, eternal bliss and accomplishment. The Siddha system evolved based on ninety-six tools (96 Thattuvam) which include physical, physiological, psychological and intellectual aspects of every human being. Among the 96 tools, the five elements i.e. Pancha bootham namely Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space are the fundamental units of everything in the human body and the cosmos. There are three vital life factors (Vaatham, Pittam, Kabham) responsible for good health. There is a relationship between these to maintain the body’s healthy. Any increase or decrease in humour causes diseases. Thirthoda sama porutkal (TSP) maintains these humour when we are using our regular diet. This article details the TSP to maintain the body healthy.
