The Effect of Migration on Urbanization of Turkey, Case of Diyarbakir

The study will be deal with migration, which is a very important phenomenon in urbanization process and mostly has negative effects and brings lots of problems to urban life. Migration could be describe as a movement that contains demand for a better life, i.e. demand for housing, demand for job, demand for school, etc… This demand, however, puts out of order urban life and disintegrates the urban system. In Turkey, especially after 1950ies, there is migration and sometimes this migration has been containing very big numbers in terms of population. Besides, after 1990ies, Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey has given out migration, especially via the city of Diyarbakir. The migration, from the city and the region to west side of Turkey, like Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, used Diyarbakir as a stopover. In addition of being a stopover point, Diyarbakir not only gives out migration but also get in migration. Thus makes Diyarbakir a city that has no history in social life and in urban culture. Shortly, The study will try to question migration and its effects to Turkey’s urbanization process in Diyarbakir case.

A General Framework for Cooperation under Uncertainty

In this paper, we introduce a general framework for situations with decision making under uncertainty and cooperation possibilities. This framework is based upon a two stage stochastic programming approach. We show that under relatively mild assumptions the cooperative games associated with these situations are totally balanced and, hence, have non-empty cores. Translating Khan on Singer: Global Solvent Versus Local Interpretation

This work focuses on Peter Singer’s book, One World: The Ethics of Globalisation, and a reading of it recently presented by M. Ali Khan. Khan’s response to Singer is acutely critical, but ultimately fails to situate Singer’s offering in its proper historical context. In this sense, Khan’s response is not sufficient. We demonstrate that Singer’s offering is permeated by a universalising discourse marked by asymmetric power relations clearly described by Edward Said in Orientalism and, more surprisingly, by Fyodor Dostoyevsky in The Possessed. On the Convexity of News Vendor Games

This study considers a simple newsvendor situation that consists of n retailers, all selling the same item with common purchasing costs and common selling prices.Groups of retailers might increase their expected joint profit by inventory centralization, which means that they make a joint order to satisfy total future demand.The resulting newsvendor games are shown to have non-empty cores in the literature.This study investigates convexity of newsvendor games.We focus our analysis on the class of newsvendor games with independent symmetric unimodal demand distributions after providing several examples outside this class that are not convex.Several interesting subclasses, containing convex games only, are identified.Additionally, we illustrate that these results can not be extended to all games in this class.game theory;inventory centralization;newsvendor;convexity

Cooperation between Multiple Newsvendors with Warehouses

This study considers a supply chain that consists of n retailers, each of them facing a newsvendor problem, m warehouses and a supplier.The retailers are supplied with a single product via some warehouses.In these warehouses, the ordered amounts of goods of these retailers become available after some lead time.At the time that the goods arrive at the warehouses, demand realizations are known by the retailers.The retailers can increase their expected joint profits by coordinating their orders and making allocations after demand realization.For this setting, we consider an associated cooperative game between the retailers.We show that this associated cooperative game has a nonempty core. erectile function after radical prostatectomy

In this study our aim is to increase the understanding of the prostate and related organs anatomy for better continence and erectile function results after urological surgery. Prostate and related organs were dissected from seven cadavers. After dissection, 165 serial sections with 300 mu m thickness were derived at a 100 mu m interval. The histological images were examined and imported to the computer. Three-dimensional (3D) remodeling had been performed. The findings were evaluated into three categories: macroscopic, microscopic and 3D reconstruction. Striated muscle fibers had been detected at the anterior fibromuscular stroma in histological sections. In 3D remodeling, urethra seemed to be a complete functional unit, beginning from the trigone up to the membranous urethra. The neurovascular bundles run under the pelvic fascia on both sides and go through to the bladder neck at 5 and 7 o'clock. Computer remodeling demonstrated that neurovascular structures had a close association with the bladder neck and the seminal vesicle. Computer program made it possible to rotate all 3D-reconstructed figures by 3601 and examine them from all possible angles. All reconstructed structures can be examined together at the same time or one by one. Surgeons must pay special attention to the continence area described as a single unit, beginning from trigone to the membranous urethra, during the surgery. Meticulous dissection of the neurovascular bundles, especially close to the seminal vesicles and bladder neck, during the radical prostatectomy is necessary. These reconstructions can be used for the educational purpose of medical students as well as the urology surgeons

Stability and monotonicity in newsvendor situations

Groups of retailers might increase their expected joint profit by joint ordering and inventory centralization. However, we assume that the retailers impose some level of stock that should be dedicated to them. In this situation, we show that the associated cooperative game has a non-empty core. Afterwards, we concentrate on a dynamic situation, where several model cost parameters and the retailers’ dedicated stock levels can change. We investigate how the profit division might be affected by these changes. We focus on four monotonicity properties. We identify several classes of games with retailers, where some of the monotonicity properties hold. Moreover, we show that pairs of cooperative games associated with newsvendor situations do not necessarily satisfy these properties in general, when changes in dedicated stock levels are in concern
