    Advanced simulation method of efficiency increase when nickel alloy machining - case study

    Paper presents some investigations concerning FEM simulation analysis and optimization of turning process of the external engine block surface. As a part of examinations carried out, selected cutting operations of upper flange were analyzed. These concerned facing, external and internal turning. To conduct the feed speed optimization process a force model was built which enabled to calculate cutting forces values depending on cutting parameters and cross section of machined layer. Warto艣ci przemieszcze艅 suport贸w wyznacza si臋 w takich przypadkach w oparciu o przemieszczenie k膮towe 艣ruby i warto艣膰 jej skoku. Rozwi膮zanie to nie obejmuje b艂臋d贸w powsta艂ych np.: na skutek odkszta艂ce艅 cieplnych 艣ruby, zale偶nych m.in. od warto艣ci si艂 skrawania, si艂 bezw艂adno艣ci, napi臋cia wst臋pnego i innych czynnik贸w. Aby wykaza膰, 偶e odkszta艂cenia cieplne 艣ruby tocznej s膮 istotne w zestawieniu z polami tolerancji, wymaganymi w obr贸bce dok艂adnej, wykonano testy sprawdzaj膮ce, kt贸re potwierdzi艂y istotno艣膰 tych odkszta艂ce艅 w powstawaniu b艂臋d贸w przedmiotu obrabianego. Wskazano rozwi膮zanie zamkni臋tego uk艂adu regulacji (Closed Loop), kompensuj膮cego wp艂yw tych b艂臋d贸w na dok艂adno艣膰 obr贸bki.In the CNC machine tools the feed drive systems in individual axles are mainly constructed on the base of ball screws-nuts and encoders. The value of slide carriage dislocations are marked in these cases basis on angular screw dislocation and the value of its pitch. This solution does not embrace deviations formed e.g. on result of thermal deformations of screw, dependent among other things from cutting forces values, inertia, primary stress and other factors. To show, that thermal ball screws deformation are essential in composition with the tolerance range, required in precision machining, verification tests were executed, which confirmed the significance of ball screw thermal deformations in formation of the workpiece errors. The solution of Closed Loop control system was indicated, compensating the influence of these errors on the machining accuracy
