THE DEMAND-CONTROL MODEL AT WORK AND SATISFACTION WITH THE COUPLE RELATIONSHIP
The overall aim of this study was to analyze if the characteristics of the job emerged as direct predictors of the satisfaction with the couple relationship and, if applicable, identify those characteristics predicting low satisfaction, with a view to contribute to the prevention of psychosocial risks that affect social health in organizations. For the achievement of this aim, Karasek’s (1979) two-dimensional model was taken as a theoretical frame of reference. It focuses on job demands and the control that organizations offer their employees in order to address these demands. The sample of participants was formed by 124 employees. The results showed that the quadruple typology proposed by the two-dimensional model, as well as control had significant effects on satisfaction. Participants with low control presented lower levels of satisfaction than participants with high control. The results concluded that the characteristics of the job, as well the autonomy, the possibility of developing abilities and creativity, influence satisfaction with the couple relationship

Bisphenol A (BPA), a dietary xenobiotic obesogen, was chosen for a directed culturing approach
using microbiota specimens from 46 children with obesity and normal-weight profiles. In parallel,
a complementary molecular analysis was carried out to estimate the BPA metabolising capacities.
Firstly, catalogues of 237 BPA directed-cultured microorganisms were isolated using five selected
media and several BPA treatments and conditions. Taxa from Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, and Actinobacteria
were the most abundant in normal-weight and overweight/obese children, with species
belonging to the genera Enterococcus, Escherichia, Staphylococcus, Bacillus, and Clostridium. Secondly,
the representative isolated taxa from normal-weight vs. overweight/obese were grouped as BPA
biodegrader, tolerant, or resistant bacteria, according to the presence of genes encoding BPA enzymes
in their whole genome sequences. Remarkably, the presence of sporobiota and concretely Bacillus
spp. showed the higher BPA biodegradation potential in overweight/obese group compared to
normal-weight, which could drive a relevant role in obesity and metabolic dysbiosis triggered by

Association among salivary alpha-amylase activity and executive functioning in healthy children
Salivary alpha-amylase (sAA) is employed in basic research as a surrogate and non-invasive marker of the activity of Autonomous Nervous System (ANS) and Adrenomedullar System (AMS). In particular, sAA has showed a statistically sig- nificant association with levels of peripheral noradrenaline under acute psychoso- cial stress conditions in young and healthy participants. In this study, our aim was directed to describe the relation among sAA and cognitive performance in differ- ent executive tasks in a sample composed by 69 healthy children (45 boys). The tasks employed to assess executive functioning belong to the ENFEN battery (which measures different aspects of executive functions through four subtests: Phonologic and Semantic Fluency, Trail Making Test, Towers, and Interference). Saliva samples were obtained at baseline (10 minutes before the start of neuro- psychological assessment), just one minute before and just one minute after the end of the last subtest of ENFEN. Our statistical analyses showed a direct and sig- nificant association among sAA and scores in Phonologic Fluency, Trail Making, Towers and Interference subtests of ENFEN after controlling the effect of BMI. These results show a positive lineal association among sAA and executive behav- ior in healthy children. We discuss these findings in relation with those studies what have suggested a main role of the noradrenergic central action mediated via Locus Coeruleus-Noradrenaline System (LC-NA System) in the regulation of executive behavior.Universidad de Málaga. Motivation and labor satisfaction in education's centers according to the working place
El objetivo de esta investigación es mostrar el impacto que determina un puesto de trabajo concreto en la motivación de incentivos y la satisfacción laboral en centros de enseñanza de Granada. Por un lado, la motivación laboral se entiende como un proceso que activa, orienta, dinamiza y mantiene la conducta de los trabajadores para conseguir una meta. Por otro lado, la satisfacción laboral se entiende como la actitud que mantiene el individuo hacia su trabajo. De acuerdo con esto, se intentará establecer qué puesto de trabajo dentro de la jerarquía implica una mayor motivación y satisfacción laboral.The

The prognostic impact of SIGLEC5-induced impairment of CD8+ T cell activation in sepsis

Sepsis is associated with T-cell exhaustion, which significantly reduces patient outcomes. Therefore, targeting of immune checkpoints (ICs) is deemed necessary for effective sepsis management. Here, we evaluated the role of SIGLEC5 as an IC ligand and explored its potential as a biomarker for sepsis.
Methods
In vitro and in vivo assays were conducted to both analyse SIGLEC5's role as an IC ligand, as well as assess its impact on survival in sepsis. A multicentre prospective cohort study was conducted to evaluate the plasmatic soluble SIGLEC5 (sSIGLEC5) as a mortality predictor in the first 60 days after admission in sepsis patients. Recruitment included sepsis patients (n = 346), controls with systemic inflammatory response syndrome (n = 80), aneurism (n = 11), stroke (n = 16), and healthy volunteers (HVs, n = 100).
Findings
SIGLEC5 expression on monocytes was increased by HIF1α and was higher in septic patients than in healthy volunteers after ex vivo LPS challenge. Furthermore, SIGLEC5-PSGL1 interaction inhibited CD8+ T-cell proliferation. Administration of sSIGLEC5r (0.8 mg/kg) had adverse effects in mouse endotoxemia models. Additionally, plasma sSIGLEC5 levels of septic patients were higher than HVs and ROC analysis revealed it as a mortality marker with an AUC of 0.713 (95% CI, 0.656–0.769; p < 0.0001). Kaplan–Meier survival curve showed a significant decrease in survival above the calculated cut-off (HR of 3.418, 95% CI, 2.380–4.907, p < 0.0001 by log-rank test) estimated by Youden Index (523.6 ng/mL).
Interpretation

Influence of the calcination temperature on the activity of hydroxyapatite-supported palladium catalyst in the methane oxidation reaction
In the present study, a series of four hydroxyapatite (HAP) supported palladium samples, with a Pd loading close to 0.5 %, obtained through their calcination at 773, 873, 973, or 1073 K has been investigated. These samples have been characterized using a wide battery of complementary techniques. From these studies, it was found that the rise of the calcination temperature induces a progressive dehydroxylation of the support and a structure evolution of the species containing Pd 2+ , from tetrahedral (Td) to square planar geometry (D 4h ). Moreover, this enhances markedly the metal-support interactions. For instance, at the highest temperature (1073 K), Pd particles were found encapsulated by a thin support layer. Consequently, two distinct reducible species have been identified; one of them manifests SMSI. This increase in the Pd-HAP interaction strength seems to (i) expand the HAP lattice, (ii) change the Pd 2+ coordination from Td to D 4h geometry, (iii) promote PdO reduction and (iv) suppress CO chemisorption. Opioids and Ocular Surface Pathology : A Literature Review of New Treatments Horizons

Licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.This review discusses the role of opioids in the corneal surface and the different pathways and therapeutic methods of management. A literature review was performed using PubMed database. For the database search, the main searching words “opioid” and “topical opioid treatment” were used with the descriptors “cornea”, “ocular surface”, “neuropathic corneal pain”, “corneal sensitivity” and “naltrexone”; original scientific articles and reviews were included to achieve the purpose of the review. The endogenous opioid system has relevant functions in the organism, and in daily use, opioids are used as painkillers. However, these drugs may be employed for other indications as opioid pathways have a wide spectrum. The corneal surface for topical treatment is easily accessible, hence sparing the side effects of systemic opioids. Instillation of opioid antagonist substances, such as naltrexone, increases corneal healing rates and stimulates the division of corneal epithelium cells without deleterious effects. The natural modulation of endogenous opioids controls different forms of pain, including inflammatory and neuropathic pain, both in the ocular surface and in the central nervous system. There are diverse methods in controlling pain using opioids, especially in refractory forms. This review attempts to collect the literature about corneal surface and opioid pathways to provide an overview image and a possible direction of the news treatments.publishersversionPeer reviewe
