Textiloma intraabdominal incidental reconocido en la sala de Emergencia. Reporte de caso clínico

Textilomas are bodies originating from surgical textile material forgotten in the patient's cavity, causing an inflammatory reaction and surrounding fibrosis over time. The objective of this study is to characterize the suspicion, after the first contact with the patient in the Emergency room. The methodology used in the report and analysis of this case takes an observational, retrospective and qualitative approach, supported by the updated review of high-impact journals. In the results obtained, it was established that the clinical picture is varied, however, the pain, a palpable mass and the systemic inflammatory response together with a history of abdominal surgery, allow increasing suspicion and directing the diagnosis.Los textilomas son cuerpos originados a partir del material textil quirúrgico olvidado en la cavidad del paciente, provocando una reacción inflamatoria y fibrosis circundante con el pasar del tiempo. El objetivo de este estudio es caracterizar la sospecha, tras el primer contacto con el paciente en la sala de Emergencia. La metodología utilizada en el reporte y análisis de este caso lleva un enfoque observacional, retrospectivo y cualitativo, apoyado en la revisión actualizada de revistas de alto impacto. En los resultados obtenidos se pudo establecer que el cuadro clínico es variado, sin embargo, el dolor, una masa palpable y la respuesta inflamatoria sistémica junto con el antecedente de cirugía abdominal, permiten incrementar la sospecha y direccionar su diagnóstico
