    Comparative Assessment of Sustainable Consumption Based on the Digital Information Environment Content-Thematic Component Differentiation

    The modern culture of consumption often does not correspond to the principles of sustainable development, which leads to environmental pollution. As a possible solution to this problem, the authors propose to analyze the concept of sustainable consumption, following which can reduce the negative impact of mankind on the environment, which is an urgent issue at the global level. The aim of the study is to build a tool for comparative analysis of the level of sustainable consumption. The analysis is carried out in the digital environment, since this space provides a relative freedom of expression of the opinion of individuals, and the obtained data reflect the real level of “sustainability” of the behavior of participants in thematic social communities. The result of the research is an analytical tool tested on thematic social communities of the VK.com social network. In the process of building an analytical tool, primary and secondary tokenization were carried out using computer linguistics tools, an analytical dataframe was formed for a source reflecting the studied content-thematic component. To automate the process of forming a set of tokens, Python 3 programming language was used. The proposed tool can be used to determine the level of sustainable consumption in different social communities relative to each other. This approach can be used by companies to find target audiences and to promote environmentally friendly products. Moreover, this tool can be applied to attract consumers by increasing the level of sustainability in the corporate culture based on the research results. A separate problematic of realizing the developed methodology is the ethical component of analyzing natural digital information and the use of the results obtained on the basis of its analysis

    Measuring the Level of Responsible Consumption Influenced by the Digital Environment: A Case Study of University of Barcelona and Bielefeld University Students

    The problem of consumerism is very relevant in the global context, as it is directly linked to the deteriorating ecological situation. Since the physical and digital environments are closely linked, the authors try to explore their interdependence in the context of responsible consumption. This research aimed to construct a tool for a comparative assessment of responsible consumption within physical and digital environments. Based on deep theoretical analysis, the authors developed the methodology of measuring the level of responsible consumption represented by the following categories: food, waste, transport, clothing, energy and water consumption, and active participation. According to this analytical system, a survey was developed and conducted among students at the University of Barcelona and the University of Bielefeld, and the results were transformed into a fuzzy-multiple model. In the digital environment analysis, the authors used an algorithm for assessing the relative presence of certain tonal and content-thematic components in the digital background of the subject under study through using the Python 3 programming language. The algorithm was tested for the assessment of the level of responsible consumption among members of two social network student communities, represented by the official accounts of the University of Barcelona and the University of Bielefeld on Instagram. The correlation between the indicators of the physical and digital environment was proved as a result of comparative analysis. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the proposed methodology, which aims to conduct a comparative analysis of responsible consumption in the physical and digital environments, while using valid but different indicators to assess consumer behavior in each of the environments. The practical implementation of the study is that the proposed methodology allows universities to investigate how their students adhere to responsible consumption and to what extent the topic of responsible consumption is expressed in informational accounts of universities and, in accordance with this, to develop measures to influence both of these parameters

    Macrocyclic Ionic Liquids with Amino Acid Residues: Synthesis and Influence of Thiacalix[4]arene Conformation on Thermal Stability

    Novel thiacalix[4]arene based ammonium ionic liquids (ILs) containing amino acid residues (glycine and L-phenylalanine) in cone, partial cone, and 1,3-alternate conformations were synthesized by alkylation of macrocyclic tertiary amines with N-bromoacetyl-amino acids ethyl ester followed by replacing bromide anions with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ions. The melting temperature of the obtained ILs was found in the range of 50–75 °C. The effect of macrocyclic core conformation on the synthesized ILs’ melting points was shown, i.e., the ILs in partial cone conformation have the lowest melting points. Thermal stability of the obtained macrocyclic ILs was determined via thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry. The onset of decomposition of the synthesized compounds was established at 305–327 °C. The compounds with L-phenylalanine residues are less thermally stable by 3–19 °C than the same glycine-containing derivatives

    Fluorescein-Labeled Thiacalix[4]arenes as Potential Theranostic Molecules: Synthesis, Self-Association, and Antitumor Activity

    In this paper, a series of thiacalix[4]arenes were synthesized as potential theranostic molecules for antitumor therapy. We propose an original strategy for the regioselective functionalization of thiacalix[4]arene with a fluorescent label to obtain antiangiogenic agent mimetics. The aggregation properties of the synthesized compounds were determined using the dynamic light scattering. The average hydrodynamic diameter of self-associates formed by the macrocycles in 1,3-alternate conformation is larger (277–323 nm) than that of the similar macrocycle in cone conformation (185–262 nm). The cytotoxic action mechanism of the obtained compounds and their ability to penetrate into of human lung adenocarcinoma and human duodenal adenocarcinoma cells were established using the MTT-test and flow cytometry. thiacalix[4]arenes in 1,3-alternate conformation did not have a strong toxic effect. The toxicity of macrocycles in cone conformations on HuTu-80 and A549 cells (IC50 = 21.83–49.11 µg/mL) is shown. The resulting macrocycles are potential theranostic molecules that combine both the pharmacophore fragment for neoplasmas treatment and the fluorescent fragment for monitoring the delivery and biodistribution of nanomedicines

    El interés por la clase obrera de Rusia, su comportamiento laboral y su ética se ha acelerado en las ciencias históricas y sociales en los últimos años. Una de las principales áreas industriales de Rusia es la región de los Urales, los Urales, donde se pueden encontrar las plantas metalúrgicas más antiguas y más grandes del país. Es por ello que la presente investigación se ocupa de la imagen laboral de los trabajadores de los Urales, es decir, de su ética laboral y actitud ante el trabajo a finales del siglo XIX-principios del XX. Los métodos científicos generales de análisis y síntesis, inducción y deducción se utilizan para cumplir con los objetivos del estudio. Habiendo analizado una amplia gama de fuentes, hemos llegado a las siguientes conclusiones: la imagen laboral de los trabajadores de los Urales a fines del siglo XI era una combinación controvertida de motivación positiva y pragmática para el trabajo, por un lado, y mala calidad y mano de obra poco productiva, así como la pereza y la actitud descuidada hacia el trabajo, por otro lado. Dado que estas características de la ética laboral de los trabajadores de los Urales, en general, son típicas de la clase trabajadora rusa en su conjunto, pueden considerarse una parte inseparable de la mentalidad nacional rusa y deben tenerse en cuenta al elaborar estrategias modernas de desarrollo laboral

    Catechol-Containing Schiff Bases on Thiacalixarene: Synthesis, Copper (II) Recognition, and Formation of Organic-Inorganic Copper-Based Materials

    For the first time, a series of catechol-containing Schiff bases, tetrasubstituted at the lower rim thiacalix[4]arene derivatives in three stereoisomeric forms, cone, partial cone, and 1,3-alternate, were synthesized. The structure of the obtained compounds was proved by modern physical methods, such as NMR, IR spectroscopy, and HRMS. Selective recognition (Kb difference by three orders of magnitude) of copper (II) cation in the series of d-metal cations (Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Zn2+) was shown by UV-vis spectroscopy. Copper (II) ions are coordinated at the nitrogen atom of the imine group and the nearest oxygen atom of the catechol fragment in the thiacalixarene derivatives. High thermal stable organic-inorganic copper-based materials were obtained on the base of 1,3-alternate + Cu (II) complexes
