Notes on Encoding Ethiopic for LATEX

Encoding Ethiopic for computer application is increasingly important for linguists, librarians, information and communication technologists. This paper focusses on encoding Ethiopic for the LATEX document preparation system, and on the methods and principles of the ethiop package which supports Ethiopie for LATEX. ethiop is a package developed by a research group at the University of Hamburg, that integrates Ethiopic to the TEX/LATEX system.We hope that this package opens up a new venue to scientific and mathematical document processing, using the rich and well developed  TEX/LATEX system. Moreover, it could render a better data exchange mechanism by virtue of its platform independence and plain ASCII nature

Abstract. It is shown that the boundedness problem for a certain class of basic object nets and a corresponding class of multiset rewriting systems is decidable. To achieve this result Dickson’s Lemma for a certain class of multisets, and a modified Karp Miller algorithm, is applied. This presents another class of nets with different decidability behaviour for reachability and boundedness

A Framework for Interacting Design/CPN- and Java-Processes

In order to widen the applicability of Design/CPN for the specication and design of large scale distributed applications, a framework has been developed that supports the interaction of Design/CPN and Java processes. Thereby a seamless embedding of the two worlds of Petri nets and object-oriented programming is achieved, allowing problem oriented modeling at dierent abstraction levels in a fully distributed environment. The general possibilities to connect Design/CPN with remote processes are discussed and a specic implementation of the required framework is sketched. Promising application areas are named and for some of them concrete example models are provided.
