    An mRNA-specific tRNAi carrier eIF2A plays a pivotal role in cell proliferation under stress conditions: Stress-resistant translation of c-Src mRNA is mediated by eIF2A

    c-Src, a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase, activates NF-��B and STAT3, which in turn triggers the transcription of anti-apoptosis- and cell cycle-related genes. c-Src protein regulates cell proliferation, cell motility and programmed cell death. And the elevated level of activated c-Src protein is related with solid tumor generation. Translation of c-Src mRNA is directed by an IRES element which mediates persistent translation under stress conditions when translation of most mRNAs is inhibited by a phosphorylation of the alpha subunit of eIF2 carrying the initiator tRNA (tRNAi) to 40S ribosomal subunit under normal conditions. The molecular basis of the stress-resistant translation of c-Src mRNA remained to be elucidated. Here, we report that eIF2A, an alternative tRNAi carrier, is responsible for the stress-resistant translation of c-Src mRNA. eIF2A facilitates tRNAi loading onto the 40S ribosomal subunit in a c-Src mRNAdependent manner. And a direct interaction between eIF2A and a stem-loop structure (SL I) in the c-Src IRES is required for the c-Src IRES-dependent translation under stress conditions but not under normal conditions.     Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations in a Polyhedral Cylinder with Inflow Boundary Condition

    In this paper our concern is with singularity and regularity of the compressible flows through a non-convex edge in R-3. The flows are governed by the compressible Navies-Stokes equations on the infinite cylinder that has the non-convex edge on the inflow boundary. We split the edge singularity by the Poisson problem from the velocity vector and show that the remainder is twice differentiable while the edge singularity is observed to be propagated into the interior of the cylinder by the transport character of the continuity equation. An interior surface layer starting at the edge is generated and not Lipshitz continuous due to the singularity. The density function shows a very steep change near the interface and its normal derivative has a jump discontinuity across there.11Nsciescopu

    Vehicle to Infrastructure-Based LiDAR Localization Method for Autonomous Vehicles

    The localization of autonomous vehicles using light detection and ranging (LiDAR) sensors relies on high-definition (HD) maps, which are essential for accurate positioning. However, the large storage capacity required for HD maps poses challenges for real-time performance. To address this issue, we propose a vehicle to infrastructure (V2I)-based LiDAR localization method. In this approach, real-time HD maps are transmitted to vehicles in the vicinity of the infrastructure, enabling localization without the need for map data. We conducted tests to determine the optimal size of the HD maps and the distance between vehicles and the infrastructure, considering the impact on transmission speed. Additionally, we compared the matching performance between the complete HD map and sub maps received from the infrastructure, to evaluate the effectiveness of our method in a qualitative manner

    Since the settlement limit concept is generaly adopted as design criteria of rock-socketed pile foundation. the load-displacement(σ-δ) behavior of the rock-socketed piles should be well understood at the design stage. which, howwver,is hard to achieve due to its complexity. To help this out, field pile load tests are executed on cast-in-situ concrete piles,first, to figure out the σ-δ behavior of rock-socketed piles. Next, the σ-δ relations of the piles are simulated numerically using commercial package program(FLAC) varing a couple of input data which are sensitive in shaping the σ-δ curves. Finally, the relation between the best input data for the numerical simulations and the geotechnical field data are cultivated to generalize the numerical simulation procedures, which enables geotechnical field data are provided
