    Hydrogen Overpotential of ε Phases

    Get PDF
From the measurement of the hydrogen overpotential of silver and copper alloys by the direct method, it was shown that the hydrogen overpotential of electron compounds of ε phases was much smaller than that of other phases. This was considered to originate in the structure of ε phases, that is, the cohesion is strong, the bond energy is large and the effective number of free electron per atom and compressibility are small, especially at the lattice constant α=2.6~2.9A
