The morphological peculiarities of TS mitral valve of the heart of man in normal and abnormal spaced strings of the left ventricle and the study of their structural features depending on the location was studied. There are given the results of comparative statistics, correlation and fractal study population Mueller-matrix images (MMI) of healthy and abnormal (early forms that are not diagnosed by histological methods) BT normal and abnormally located tendon strings left ventricle of the human heart. Abnormalities in the structure of the wings, tendon strings (TS), mastoid muscle (MM) in inconsistencies elements and harmonized operation of all valve complex shown in the features of the polarization manifestations of the laser images

Aim To investigate whether the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) clinical category cT2b needs to be subclassified by the type and distribution of retinoblastoma (RB) seeding. Methods Multicentre, international registry-based data were collected from RB centres enrolled between January 2001 and December 2013. 1054 RB eyes with vitreous or subretinal seeds from 18 ophthalmic oncology centres, in 13 countries within six continents were analysed. Local treatment failure was defined as the use of secondary enucleation or external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) and was estimated with the Kaplan-Meier method. Results Clinical category cT2b included 1054 eyes. Median age at presentation was 16.0 months. Of these, 428 (40.6%) eyes were salvaged, and 430 (40.8%) were treated with primary and 196 (18.6%) with secondary enucleation. Of the 592 eyes that had complete data for globe salvage analysis, the distribution of seeds was focal in 143 (24.2%) and diffuse in 449 (75.8%). The 5-year Kaplan-Meier cumulative globe-salvage (without EBRT) was 78% and 49% for eyes with focal and diffuse RB seeding, respectively. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis confirmed a higher local treatment failure risk with diffuse seeds as compared with focal seeds (hazard rate: 2.8; p<0.001). There was insufficient evidence to prove or disprove an association between vitreous seed type and local treatment failure risk(p=0.06). Conclusion This international, multicentre, registry-based analysis of RB eyes affirmed that eyes with diffuse intraocular distribution of RB seeds at diagnosis had a higher risk of local treatment failure when compared with focal seeds. Subclassification of AJCC RB category cT2b into focal vs diffuse seeds will improve prognostication for eye salvage.Ophthalmic researc

NEW METHOD OF CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC RHINOSINUSITIS IN CHILDREN WITH CYSTIC FIBROSIS

Development of new methods of treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF) is necessary because of severe clinical course of this disease and frequent development of rhinosinusitis in children. Rhinosinusitis in patients with CF has chronic clinical course, frequent exacerbation and it is hardly treated with traditional therapy. Authors studied effectiveness of treatment of chronic sinusitis with inhalations of dornase alfa in accessory sinuses of nose with compressor inhalator PARI LC SINUS. 23 children with severe clinical course of CF, chronic sinusitis and rhinitis remaining despite recommended treatment were observed during the study. Treatment with inhalations of dornase alfa with PARI LC SINUS had beneficial effect, and it can be recommended for inclusion in pediatric practice. Key words: children, cystic fibrosis, chronic rhinosinusitis, dornase alfa, PARI LC SINUS, conservative therapy.(Voprosy sovremennoi pediatrii — Current Pediatrics. 2010;9(5):72-79

Ecotoxicological hazard assessment of deicing chemicals for higher plants

    No full text
The article presents data on ecotoxicological hazard assessment of different types of deicing chemicals for higher plants. The assessment was carried out according to a specifically developed rapid test on oats seeds. The phytoeffect was determined by comparing the lengths of the seedling roots placed in a solution of deicing chemicals and was calculated by the effect size of root growth inhibition comparing with proof sample. The safest composition of deicing chemicals was determined

Article deals with topical issue of modern obstetrics — course of pregnancy, delivery and postnatal period in HIV-infected women. We studied the course of pregnancy and incidence of the extragenital diseases in HIV-infected pregnant women with diffe- rent stages of disease. The findings have shown, that HIV-infected pregnant women represent group at high risk of perinatal pathology development. With the progression of HIV-disease to reduce the incidence of HIV transmission from mother to child and to preserve the health of the woman it’s recommend to administrate highly active antiretroviral therapy

Different reaction of core histones H2A and H2B to the red laser radiation

Aim: to investigate the influence of red laser irradiation on the processes of self-assembly of core histones H2A and H2B. Material and Methods. Solutions of human histone proteins were used in the work. Self-assembly was studied by the method of wedge dehydration. Image facies analysis consisted in their qualitative characterization and calculation of quantitative indicators with subsequent statistical processing. Results. It was established that linearly polarized laser light of the red region of the spectrum (A=660 nm, 1 J/cm2) significantly modifies the process of self-assembly of core histone H2B, while the structure of the facies of H2A histone changing to a lesser extent. Conclusion. Red laser radiation influences on the on the processes of self-assembly of core histones H2A and H2B. There is a differential sensitivity of different classes of histones to laser action. Histone proteins used in the experiments are present in the form of aqueous salt solutions. Red light realizes the effect seems to be due to the formation of singlet oxygen by direct laser excitation of molecular oxygen.</p

A regular research of phases on the basis of Ca(Ba)Gd(Sm)₂S₄—Gd(Sm)₂S₃(BaS) using various electrochemical methods has been carried out. The area of solid solutions, electrolytic temperature interval, average ion transfer numbers and electron transfer numbers have been determined. The structures having the best electrolytic properties are established. The conductivity nature of solid electrolyte on the basis of barium thiosamarate and calcium thiogadolinate has been investigated. The data obtained allow to consider phases Ca(Ba)Gd(Sm)₂S₄—Gd(Sm)₂S₃(BaS) as ionic conductors. The possible mechanism of defect formation is proposed
