Also, he discussed how found species of plants along the bank of the Delaware River that were not present in Philadelphia since the cattle there destroyed much of the vegetation in and around the city. Later in the letter he informed Susan that he was considering taking a trip up to Canada, however, if the paperwork proved to make it too difficult, he would settle with just going to Niagara instead.
