Irreducible representations of Upq[gl(2/2)]
The two-parametric quantum superalgebra and its
representations are considered. All finite-dimensional irreducible
representations of this quantum superalgebra can be constructed and classified
into typical and nontypical ones according to a proposition proved in the
present paper. This proposition is a nontrivial deformation from the one for
the classical superalgebra gl(2/2), unlike the case of one-parametric
deformations.Comment: Latex, 8 pages. A reference added in v.
Two-parametric deformation and its induced representations
The two-parametric quantum superalgebra is consistently
defined. A construction procedure for induced representations of
is described and allows us to construct explicitly all
(typical and nontypical) finite-dimensional representations of this quantum
superalgebra. In spite of some specific features, the present approach is
similar to a previously developed method [1] which, as shown here, is
applicable not only to the one-parametric quantum deformations but also to the
multi-parametric ones.Comment: Latex, 13 pages, no figur
Scalar sextet in the 331 model with right-handed neutrinos
A Higgs sextet is introduced in order to generate Dirac and Majorana neutrino
masses in the 331 model with right-handed neutrinos. As will be seen, the
present sextet introduction leads to a rich neutrino mass structure. The
smallness of neutrino masses can be achieved via, for example, a seesaw limit.
The fact that the masses of the charged leptons are not effected by their new
Yukawa couplings to the sextet is convenient for generating small neutrino
masses.Comment: RevTeX4, 5 pages, no figure. To appear in Phys. Rev. D. Misprints

Willingness to Pay for Improving Household Solid Waste Management in Vietnam
Management of solid waste is a major challenge in urban areas of most parts of the world, especially in developing countries. The study aimed to determine and estimate the willingness to pay (WTP) of the selected households for the improvement of solid waste management in Vietnam. The research evaluated WTP of household solid waste in case studies in Bien Hoa and My Tho cities using contingent valuation method (CVM). The data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire survey and interviews with 200 households. The results showed that the most willingness to pay was equal to 10,000 and 15,000 VND per month. The respondents were willing to pay in Bien Hoa and My Tho with an average of 14,450 VND (0.63 USD) and 13,000 VND (0.56 USD) per month, respectively. Regression model identified influential factors on WTP of households in the two cities of Vietnam. The factors that significantly influence householdsâ WTP were monthly household income, education of respondents, age, occupation and solid waste volume (p<0.05). The results of this study can be used for the urban planning and implemented the sustainable development process in Bien Hoa and My Tho cities

Grain Boundary Induced Bias Instability in Soluble Acene-Based Thin-Film Transistors
Since the grain boundaries (GBs) within the semiconductor layer of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) have a strong influence on device performance, a substantial number of studies have been devoted to controlling the crystallization characteristics of organic semiconductors. We studied the intrinsic effects of GBs within 5,11-bis(triethylsilylethynyl) anthradithiophene (TES-ADT) thin films on the electrical properties of OFETs. The GB density was easily changed by controlling nulceation event in TES-ADT thin films. When the mixing time was increased, the number of aggregates in as-spun TES-ADT thin films were increased and subsequent exposure of the films to 1,2-dichloroethane vapor led to a significant increase in the number of nuleation sites, thereby increasing the GB density of TES-ADT spherulites. The density of GBs strongly influences the angular spread and crystallographic orientation of TES-ADT spherulites. Accordingly, the FETs with higher GB densities showed much poorer electrical characteristics than devices with lower GB density. Especially, GBs provide charge trapping sites which are responsible for bias-stress driven electrical instability. Dielectric surface treatment with a polystyrene brush layer clarified the GB-induced charge trapping by reducing charge trapping at the semiconductor-dielectric interface. Our study provides an understanding on GB induced bias instability for the development of high performance OFETs
Representations of U_q(sl(N)) at Roots of Unity
The Gelfand--Zetlin basis for representations of is improved to
fit better the case when is a root of unity. The usual -deformed
representations, as well as the nilpotent, periodic (cyclic), semi-periodic
(semi-cyclic) and also some atypical representations are now described with the
same formalism.Comment: 18 pages, Plain TeX, Macros harvmac.tex and epsf needed 3 figures in

Blame, Symbolic Stigma and HIV Misconceptions are Associated with Support for Coercive Measures in Urban India
This study was designed to examine the prevalence of stigma and its underlying factors in two large Indian cities. Cross-sectional interview data were collected from 1,076 non-HIV patients in multiple healthcare settings in Mumbai and Bengaluru, India. The vast majority of participants supported mandatory testing for marginalized groups and coercive family policies for PLHA, stating that they âdeservedâ their infections and âdidnât careâ about infecting others. Most participants did not want to be treated at the same clinic or use the same utensils as PLHA and transmission misconceptions were common. Multiple linear regression showed that blame, transmission misconceptions, symbolic stigma and negative feelings toward PLHA were significantly associated with both stigma and discrimination. The results indicate an urgent need for continued stigma reduction efforts to reduce the suffering of PLHA and barriers to prevention and treatment. Given the high levels of blame and endorsement of coercive policies, it is crucial that such programs are shaped within a human rights framework
Helicobacter pylori infection and gastroduodenal diseases in Vietnam: a cross-sectional, hospital-based study
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The rate of <it>H. pylori </it>infection in Vietnam is reportedly high, but the spectrum of <it>H. pylori</it>-associated gastroduodenal diseases has not been systematically investigated. Moreover, despite the similarities of ethnicity and diet, the age-standardized incidence rate of gastric cancer in the northern city of Hanoi is higher than that in the southern city of Ho Chi Minh, but the reason for this phenomenon is unknown. The virulence of Vietnamese <it>H. pylori </it>has also not been investigated in detail.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Individuals undergoing esophagogastroduodenoscopy were randomly recruited. <it>H. pylori </it>infection status was determined based on the combined results of culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, rapid urine test and serum ELISA. Peptic ulcer (PU) and gastroesophageal reflux disease was diagnosed by endoscopy, and chronic gastritis was determined histologically. <it>H. pylori </it>virulence factors were investigated by PCR and sequencing.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Among the examined patients, 65.6% were infected with <it>H. pylori</it>. The prevalence of infection was significantly higher in those over 40 years of age than in those aged â€40. Chronic gastritis was present in all <it>H. pylori</it>-infected individuals, 83.1% of whom had active gastritis, and 85.3% and 14.7% had atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, respectively. PU was present in 21% of infected patients, whereas its incidence was very low in non-infected individuals. The prevalence of PU was significantly higher in Hanoi than in Ho Chi Minh. The prevalence of <it>vacA m1</it>, which has been identified as an independent risk factor for PU in Vietnam, was significantly higher among <it>H. pylori </it>isolates from Hanoi than among those from Ho Chi Minh.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p><it>H. pylori </it>infection is common in Vietnam and is strongly associated with PU, active gastritis, atrophy and intestinal metaplasia. <it>vacA m1 </it>is associated with an increased risk for PU and might contribute to the difference in the prevalence of PU and gastric cancer between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.</p
Tear proteomic analysis of Sjogren syndrome patients with dry eye syndrome by two-dimensional-nano-liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry
We examined the tear film proteome of patients with Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and dry eye syndrome (group A), patients with dry eye symptoms (group B) and normal volunteers (group C). Tear samples were pooled from 8 subjects from each group and were subjected to two-dimensional-nano-liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (2D-nano-LC-MS/MS). The tear breakup time for group A was significantly reduced compared with group B and C (P < 0.001). Group A (Schirmer I test, 2.13 +/- 2.38 mm/5 min) had markedly lower tear volume than group B (5.94 +/- 4.75 mm/5 min) and C (14.44 +/- 6.57 mm/5 min) (P < 0.001). Group A had significantly higher normalized tear protein content (1.8291 +/- 0.2241 mu g/mm) than group B (1.0839 +/- 0.1120 mu g/mm) (P = 0.001) and C (0.2028 +/- 0.0177 mu g/mm) (P = 0.001). The 2D-nano-LC-MS/MS analysis identified a total of 435 proteins, including 182 (54.8%),247 (74.4%) and 278 (83.7%) in group A, B, and C, respectively, with 56 (16.7%) proteins including defensin alpha 1, clusterin and lactotransferrin unique to group A. In conclusion, dry eye syndrome in SS patients is associated with an altered proteomic profile with dysregulated expression of proteins involved in a variety of important cellular process including inflammation, immunity, and oxidative stress
